The Stage Hair Salon — Attraction in New York

I had become super apprehensive about going to hair salons because I always left feeling like I didn’t really get what I wanted, but I made an attempt to bleach my own hair at home and WHAT A MESS I CREATED FOR MYSELF! I had a brassy, blotchy, damaged disaster on my head!

I found the stage hair salon browsing the web and was impressed with their haircuts and coloring services so I made an appointment for my mom and I and I AM SO GLAD I DID. I feel like I found a permanent salon that I can return to again and again with full confidence that I am in the best hands.

My mom received a beautiful cut (and she is not easy to please so I was relieved to see her reaction and genuine love for her new look)

I underwent an almost 8 hour process to cut and color my hair. (It was a major transformation) Lidia and Donna both worked on my head. They have fun personalities but maintain high standards of professionalism. I provided photo reference for my hair cut and color and I appreciate that Lidia works hard to make sure your vision is realized but she’s honest and transparent that the process requires patience to maintain the integrity of the health of your hair. Both she and Donna were very communicative , providing an explanation for everything they do. It made me feel very reassured. They also suggest add-on services based on what YOU NEED, and I never felt like they were just trying to up sell me for the sake of an up sell. For example , I had walked in to their salon with breakage and heat damage already , seeking lightening services so they suggested adding olaplex to help repair my hair and prevent further breakage. I’ve never rocked such a light color and had my hair feel so healthy still !

Today makes two weeks since I did the initial service . I paid $300 for the cut, color, and added treatment . It was worth every dollar to leave fully satisfied . (You really do get what you pay for and trust me I get it , not everyone has $300 to spend on their hair all of the time but I’d rather save to get a job well done then to spend less money multiple times and ultimately end up with damaged hair I’m not happy with) The toner did not take completely during the first go but we had treated my hair so much so we agreed to put another toner in two weeks, which is today.

Today I returned for my toner (which was applied by Donna) and it was another incredible experience! I left the salon and I literally had people complimenting me from the second I walked out!

Both times I stepped out of the stage hair salon I had a little extra bounce in my step and for me it’s all about feeling that extra bit of confidence, so thank you ladies!

I’m shocked to see some one star reviews and I know everyone has varying experiences but I will say to anyone reading the reviews, keep in mind that sometimes we as clients come in with unrealistic expectations and coloring services are a science . I will say in my one visit, I heard Lidia communicate honestly to several clients the difficulty of lifting evenly when you’ve used black boxed dye. I’ve done keratin and protein more than 6 times in my life. When I asked Lydia how much is it for keratin over the phone she said 200 when I showed up I asked again to double check before we start she said after the worker washes your hair to guarantee me doing my hair forcefully with her by manipulation, after she washed my hair she said it’s going to be 230 she said no protein is 230 keratin is 200, after my hair was soaking wet I said ok and I’ll do protein, I did protein and paid 230 after less than a week and using sulfate free shampoo that I always use after keratin or protein treatment my hair got back the way it was, frizzy and dry. When I asked her about it and that I need a solution she blamed it on the shampoo because she definitely does not want to pay back some of the amount or even to fix her mistake and apply REAL protein People I have noticed that she does not use keratin neither protein she uses hair masks and does nothing like the keratin or protein. I read many bad reviews about this salon and unfortunately i was scammed and I got robbed off by paying 230 and my hair stayed the way it is I contacted her multiple times she blamed it on the shampoo and then she started ignoring, don’t worry Lydia one day people will know what you’re doing and will stop coming and I’ll make sure to notify people about that. I recently brought my mom to The Stage Hair Salon to get her hair done before her trip to Europe for a wedding, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience.
