As someone who has a few years of ceramics experience, I find that Yaro is a really lovely place that has pretty much everything one would want out of a ceramics studio! Equipment is in great condition, good offering of glazes and a lot of workshop offerings. The membership and class options are very fair/comparable to other studios in NYC. The individual workshops are pretty dependent on the instructor, but generally, everyone who teaches there is super knowledgeable and warm.
One thing that Iâve found to be challenging is finding open studio time when taking a semester class. The weekend spots fill up incredible fastââso if youâre someone with a restricted schedule, that might be something to keep in mind.

Read moreI'm so glad a friend recommended Yaro to me! I was looking for a studio where I could take classes and I feel so lucky that I came to Yaro. It's spacious, well-equipped, and staff and members are so friendly and helpful. Even during the "busy" times, there's always space to work, and people are very respectful about tidying up. You also become a part of the Yaro community quickly because everyone is so welcoming and I became a member after a few classes. A real special shoutout to Simon, Andrea, Evan, Jaleh, and all the wonderful Yaro staff members who really help make Yaro such a rad spot to...
Read moreI signed up for an intro class last fall to feel creative again and I'm so happy I chose Yaro! I'm in the middle of my second semester with Nancy, who is a wonderful instructor. I truly love coming to class and open studio time - throwing little bowls on the wheel is so soothing, and it's so nice to make something with your own hands and learn new techniques. The studio is airy, spacious, and well-maintained, the staff and other students/members form a nice community, and overall has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Also good/bad for me that I have to pass Radio Bakery on the way here...
