DO NOT GO HERE! THIS PLACE WAS HORRIBLE. The waitresses were horrible, the service and the food were horrible. Here is the story of my meal. I virtually never review restaurants because I'm usually a very easy-going customer who very rarely finds any major fault with someplace. I went in and sat at the bar. There was one waitress and two other tables full of customers (6 customers). This was at about 2p after the lunch rush. The waitress had me waiting for 20 minutes while she washed glasses, and attended to the other customers and then bussed and cleared their tables. No complaint there. OK it was a little slow but not enough to get me annoyed. I ask her to suggest something that isn't hot as I wasn't feeling well and didn't want anything hot. She said that I should look at the menu, which of course I was already doing. I order the fish tacos and I ask her if it was spicy. She says we can make it the way you want. I told her not hot. The food comes. Its burning hot with the spicy green sauce. I ask her why it is so hot and she doesn't answer me, just walks away. The bill comes. For two tacos, a small portion of rice and beans, and a small soda, it's $13.00. I'm thinking to myself thats a little expensive but I whip out my credit card to pay it. There is a sign on the wall which says credit card minimum $15.00. I'm looking right at it. She brings me the check and Its for $14.00. I ask her whats the extra dollar for. She says because your paying by credit card. I say to her no thats ok Im putting the tip on the credit card which brings it up to $16.00. She says no the food has to come to $15.00. I say no your wrong its the total. She says no your wrong. Now I've been using a credit card for about 30 years and no one has ever said this to me and then she continued to argue with me and say I was wrong. I said fine, that dollar that was your tip and I walked out. On top of bad food, bad service, and nasty, ignorant waitresses she who was about 19 or 20 told me I was wrong about something I've been using my...

I cant believe I have to write a review in 2018 about being turned away at a restaurant because of a stroller. My friend and both of our two year olds were TURNED AWAY earlier today at lunch time by the lady who was opening because we had strollers. The place was empty, we were the first customers and the woman insisted that we could not come in because we had strollers. We said, we could put them in the back and it wouldn’t bother anyone that what was the big deal if the place was empty, I asked, and she insisted we could not come in because we those strollers and there was no space for them - insane that restaurant is big enough and it was empty! . We switched to Spanish because we both are fluent and we could not believe she was actually turning us away with our kids because of strollers unheard of. I asked if there was an owner or a manager ( I actually think she might be the manager, which is crazy) and she just slammed the door in our faces and ignored us, so we just left. We were starving and the kids were hungry because it was lunch time.

The first time I came to this place a while ago, this same woman was very unpleasant but didn’t think much of it because it’s a simple nothing amazing of a place but to this type of treatment, it’s insane! Is that even legal? We didn’t want to make a scene because we were with our toddlers and she felt very powerful doing it which is the sad part because noone else was there and she thought she could get away with it. I decided to write this review because the neighborhood this restaurant is in is filled with kids and strollers.

I only hope whomever is the owner reads this and does something about that woman and I for sure will not be coming back to this place ever again and will make sure to advise all the parents in the area, because this was humiliating and is...

Came here the other day (it was HOTTTTTTT) my husband and I sat in a shady spot outside. They have umbrellas as well if the sun is beating down on ya! Menus are on the table and sealed/taped so they sanitize the tables and the menu stays there which is clever and sanitary! We ordered guacamole which came out quickly! The chips were super fresh and everything was in paper/plastic which is sanitary these days (sorry environment, we love you though) great guac! It’s hard to find guac under $10 anywhere these days and this one was. I ordered a vegetarian plate and my husband ordered chicken enchiladas in salsa verde sauce. We were both very pleased! Everything was so fresh! Our server was attentive yet kept her distance to ensure our comfort. Overall, we were very pleased. We didn’t order any drinks but two construction workers came in behind us to order margaritas to-go. He was raving about how “these are the best damn margaritas in town!!” So, heads up there :-) Some restaurants try so hard that they over-do it in regards to “reinventing the wheel”. Everything was simple, tasteful (literally) and cheap! We will be coming back. It’s always nice to write a good review and I try to when I am pleased with food...

One of Greenpoint's best kept food secrets, the Tacos Bandera! GP insiders have been enjoying this for a while and more people should be basking in this food delight. It's only on the special menu for Friday nights, but they've made it pretty much every night of the week upon request. While this is my favorite dish, I genuinely love every dish I've had here. Some items are quite spicy, which I prefer, but caution to those that don't spicy does mean spicy here. Very friendly staff and table side space heaters while indoor dining moratorium is in effect.

Had a very good brunch here on a pleasant Saturday afternoon. I got a fabulous beans, rice, kale, spicy scrambled egg dish. Service was just fine. I would definitely revisit this place! Update: Revisted recently, 6/22, and had a very good veggie burrito but the woman taking my order (short, a little older) ignored me over several other customers who came in after, was barely civil, could not comment or recommend anything (said she hadn’t tried any of my choices), and I felt like she didn’t want me there. Probably won’t go back.

We were in Brooklyn from Arizona we stayed at the Franklin Guest House so we Google what restaurant were close, Vamos was our choice, we ordered margaritas, chips and guacamole shrimp salad and posole. It's was so good we went back the next day for the corn, tacos and flan everything on the menu was amazing and very authentic, our waitress Juanita deserves a shout out, she was very welcoming and recommendations was the best.. thank you look forward to going back..
