Capsule & Pod Hotel | NYC — Attraction in Newark

So the owner wants to know why I gave this place 1 star after he was so nice to me. Well, I had to ask to be moved several times because everywhere was EXTREMELY loud. I asked him when quiet hours were. He said 11 to 8. I told him about the very loud noises from guests in the kitchen and he said he couldn't do anything about it....even though he IS the owner of the place. There is hair ALL over the bathroom floor. The sinks are clogged. The beds are very hard. Some beds have bed bug covers that crinkle everytime you move. Its very hot in your pod. Don't be taller than 5 foot or you will be sleeping curled up. The blankets won't cover your whole body. It smells bad in the hallways. The loud entry to the doors. The person living above the pods is very heavy on their feet and you will hear them at all hours. They will charge you 6 extra dollars if you pay by card and you won't be told until you're there. It sucks. I could...

Very bad experience at Capsule hostel. I arrived lately as planned in my reservation, and the landlord was not there at the reception. I had to wait 2 hours outside, until someone opened the door. Unreachable on the phone!! Reservation said check in until 11pm, and I arrived at 10:30pm. The landlord finally arrived at 3:30am!! And charged me full price for staying from 3:30 to 7am. And didn’t apologize. Crazy! I didn’t appreciate he wasn’t concerned about my reservation. Same happened for 3 other people that left the place for another last minute accommodation. The place itself is well organized with capsules, bathrooms, kitchen. But definitely not recommend this place for only 1 night and especially if you arrive lately. False advertising, No cooking facilities, no kitchen utensils or working appliances, no top bed sheet, no bag storage, no front desk, & no use of hostel common area after checkout time despite being advertised as a hostel. The owner was unaccommodating when asked about the kitchen (I moved from a Philly hostel with refrigerated food to cook). Ultimately the owner refused to speak and phoned the police who arrived as I was sat on the steps outside working out my flight info.
