Cozy Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Newark

If you don’t speak Spanish or Portuguese you’ll have a tough time ordering from here. I’ve gone to this place on multiple occasions and always have problems ordering as none of the employees speak any English except for one 2 guys that at least understand it a bit. On this last visit I ordered a plate where I asked for chicken with an extra serving with 2 servings or sweet potato. The girl that tooom my order seemed so confused as she didn’t speak English so she brought out a menu where I pointed at exactly what I wanted. Instead of doing a serving of chicken with an extra serving and 2 sweet potatoes she hands me 2 orders of chicken and sweet potato. Something that should have cost me around 12$ ended up costing me 20$. I was already aggravated at this point as it took me like 15 minutes just to tell her the order so I just payed and left. I can’t understand how you expect to run a business having a whole staff that doesn’t understand your clients. I’ve been to plenty of places in Newark where the staff doesn’t speak English but on those occasions they always have a person on duty that does and they always come over and help not the case with this place everyone on staff didn’t understand anything I was saying. I ordered two entrees. Only one arrived at 10:30, I was not informed by the restaurant that one would arrive. I called the restaurant they told me that they were gonna change the order and refund the rest, something that still hasn't happened. The food that arrived costs $7 and I paid $3 tip (thinking I have my full order). I would have never ordered just one entree from that restaurant if they had informed me as soon as they received the order, or at least I would try to change my order in time. I spent the last 1+ hour cooking because off course there were no other restaurants open at the time my half order arrived or not even a supermarket nearby as the weather is been pretty bad today. Last but not least, the food was tasteless and dry (Veggie spinach wrap), definitely not ordering from here...

One 🌟 is generous. Not only did the waitress not speak a lick of English She had 0 personality. She stepped to the table with a frown on her face, didn't introduce herself or even offer a smile. She had a difficult time understanding what sparkling water was. It was all downhill from there. One entree arrived 30 min later, walked away without communicating, 15 min later still waiting for the second entree, I paid for the drinks and left. The other waiter was also not helpful. He was chit chatting w the table next to us without the desire to help. Terrible service and terrible management and they didn't seem to be bothered...
