The Liquidator Department Store — Attraction in Newark

The store was neat the staff was nice and they had overall good prices. What my bf was upset at was that we did purchase a kids bedroom set and after choosing the color of choice at the store the day of delivery the furniture Co called and said they only had it in one color. After deliberating we took that color and they attempted to deliver the next day which unfortunately my bf was not home and we had left clear instructions on the day of delivery. On top of that bcz he was going to build it himself they didn't have to set it up just bring it upstairs but when the driver came he wanted me to receive the furniture in front of the building instead of them bringing it up. Told me it was drop off only and I said yes drop off but in his apt not outside. I told him my back was not in any condition for me to carry any piece of furniture that has to go to a very high floor. Plus the instructions clearly said to bring it Wednesday not Thursday as no one would be home. Because I was the one that spoke to the driver on a 3 way call with my boyfriend I knew what I had told him and translated it back to my bf. The store verified with the driver and the driver said That he never told me He was going to leave it downstairs 🤔. Yes I think I know exactly what I told him bcz I know perfect English, understood what he wanted to do and translated all back to my bf. Having a paralegal background helps too as I translated alot at the law office and after when I went to work for the state courts system in NY. So I can definitely back myself up and dont need to get everything twisted. Probably didn't want to get in trouble but your not going to discredit me as that driver clearly lied to the person that called him to verify. So because of this incident ill definitely give them low stars. Dont sell something you don't have because after we bought everything curtains and all now we have to change the whole room to accommodate a color we didn't asked for but wasn't an option for us to change. Horrible!!! Will never shop here again! I spent near $4,000. The sofa came damage and he didn't want to replace it. I've had them for less then a year and all the buttons done popped out on the left side of the sofa the same side that came damage. The bed frame I just found out is refurbished. I asked a million times if anything was refurbished and they said no. They lied!!! If it's refurbished fine, but they shouldn't sell refurbished furniture for retail price and they should at least let the buyer know it's refurbished. They also charged $250 to deliver the items. Do your research before purchasing from here. I could've gone to Ashley furniture and spend less with lifetime warranty and wouldn't have to worry about refurbished furniture. One star was given, only because I couldn't leave a comment without rating them. I purchased a brand new floor freezer approximately 2 months ago from this establishment. The freezer stopped working before July 4th 201 . I was told by an associate that the freezer has a warranty but the manager would not be in until after the 4th. I've been playing phone tag with this establishment since July 5th with no resolution e.g. the manage is not in; the manager is busy. I called this morning and was told to call back in 2 hours because the manager was busy. I called back three times and no one answered. I called the 4th time and the phone was picked up but quickly hung up after the person heard my voice. Now we're back to not answering again.
