Newcastle Library — Attraction in Newcastle

Very poor hours. Nonresponsive to questions or suggestions. Could be a gem but misses the mark.

They replied that that the increased hours in 2021 but missed revealing how they slashed hours in 2020. Current hours are still way below pre pandemic hours. Plus, honestly, it took them maybe 6 months to figure out how to hand books out the window? McDonalds and every fast food place in town has been doing it for years. Many restaurants shifted to take out immediately during the pandemic. The library simply shut down.

I certainly don't need to argue with the library system (I am a huge fan and user of libraries) but they can do a far better job in using our tax dollars to...

The staff was super sweet to me, the place was clean and tidy, and they never once rushed me or tried to bother me when I was busy working on a project. The only complaint I have are that there isn't many books, the children can sometimes be loud and unruly (that's mostly on the parents though), and that the parking lot is pretty small. Otherwise, it's a great place to have a meeting (they have a conference room), if you need to research something- they have computers and books, and if you want to be treated with respect: the staff...

Other than having to pay about $1.50 or so for just 6 printed pages now, Newcastle library is a quiet and clean environment. The staff is helpful and it's comfortable to study and to be there. Before COVID, libraries allowed, free of charge, a total of 75 black and white copies to be printed per week but since all libraries were closed for nearly two years after the pandemic hit, I'm sure libraries were at a financial loss so I do consider the printing...
