I went to this Subway in Newcastle about 3 weeks ago because I had a coupon. I've had bad experiences here in the past and haven't been back for several years. I was hoping that they've changed but they've seemed to have gotten worse. When I arrived, there was no one in the sandwich prep area. There was a camera so I assumed the employees can see customers if they're in the back. Well, no one came out to provide service. I waited around for about 10 mins and when I started to walk out the door, an older Indian female came out of the back (btw, no apologies for making the customer wait). I finally ordered, and when it was time to pay, I mentioned to her that I have a coupon. She entered the full price in the register. So I had to mention again that I'm using a coupon. Finally, she enters the correct amount. Her attitude was if she didn't care and very rude. About the food, if you want to eat fresh, you're in the wrong place. I don't think there is anything in there that's fresh, from the meats to the vegetables to the cheeses to the breads, nothing. Everything looked like they've been sitting there for days. It doesn't surprise me, given the workers attitude. Also, when I went to fill my soda, only carbonated water came out, which I didn't realize until I got home. In summary, this place has not changed. Read moreThis is the third time this particular location has accepted the order from the subway app and then cancelled just before I have reached the store. According to the app the store is open till 10 pm and online orders are accepted till 9.30 pm. I reached the store at 9.35 pm and saw the store was already locked up and closed. When the person working came out I asked them why the order was cancelled. They called the owner and the excuse given by the owner is that even if you place the order before 9.30 on the app there is no guarantee when they will get the order. But clearly the store was already locked up and closed. She was very quick to suggest that I should take my business elsewhere when I expressed disappointment about this happening for the third time. So anyone placing a pickup order at this location be ready to find the store closed even though the hours suggest it's open. And obviously the owner is proud of this customer service and wants the customers to take their business elsewhere. I finished writing this entire review and the time is still 10.04 pm now and the store has been closed for the last 30 minutes already. Super fun...

In response to the owner: I didn't want to get into too much detail but, what does getting my funds back have to do with my review? I ordered 5 subs for hungry teenagers and you waited 30 minutes to have it cancelled on the app. You didn't have the decency to call me when you got the order? I had to call you in front of the store when I was there to pickup to ask why my order was cancelled, to get an answer that you were out of steak? You couldn't call and ask if I wanted to substitute one of the subs? It could have saved me time. It's just 5 families that will never order from your establishment...I'm sure you will be fine. The sad thing is, as a business owner myself, I would think your response would be apologetic and to improve, but your response is still somehow taking no accountability.
