I finally got the courage to tell my story. I came in almost 3 years ago to get juvederm injected in my lips by Dr Reich.  The juvederm was injected into my blood vessel I had ended up with a vascular occlusion causing severe pain, bruising, swelling and a honeycomb vein pattern on my face. I had called and was told to come in, the doctor proceeded to treat my swelling and severe bruising with massage for several of my follow up appointments, without improvement. Between  these follow up visits with Dr. Reich, I had gotten several second opinions which stated that in a situation like mine was an EMERGENCY and the   juvederm should be immediately dissolved and the longer that it was not dissolved , the more  problems/ tissue death it would cause. Several weeks passed as this necrosis continued to progress with my tussues dying due to inadequate blood flow . By this time I had already seen Dr. Reich about 5 times and my condition not improving with necrosis on my lips around the mouth and lower cheek on the right side, as well as my lip line drooped on the right side. I asked the doctor why he did not offer to dissolve it, and then he said he did not want to waste the product he injected to go to waste and the dissolver liquid would cost them too much. I proceeded to tell him about the second opinions from other doctors that the Juvederm must IMMEDIATELY BE DISSOLVED , and it’s the ONLY option to stop the ulcer growth and the spread of necrosis. He proceeded to disdolve once I brought up my findings. I came in for several more appointments to get hyaluronidase injections which finally stopped the deterioration of my face. Unfortunately because so much time passed between the initial injection and when the dr finally started to dissolve it, I had already ended up scarring ulcers,  tissue death on my top and bottom lips,  as well as permanent scarring,  nerve/ muscle/ tissue  damage causing assymetry and a droop of my lip / lower face on the right side. There was approximately 1/2 inch  black necrosis spot on my upper lip on lower right side that turned black and fell off, as well as on my bottom lip's upper right side. Ultimately, as the filler progressively suffocated my blood supply after my injection, the filler should have been immediately dissolved, and because it was not until several weeks afterwards, my treatment provided to me was improperly / negligently rendered . The doctor advised to come in and get laser treatment to help with the scarring, which I did,  but  it barely did anything for what look like acne scars around my upper lip. The office never followed up with me to see if I was doing ok or Of they could do anything to help me with the misery they caused. Besides that, I am left with permanent lip asymmetry and died off tissue on the right side of my lips that never regenerated. Dr reich said it can take over a year and the tissue should regenerate and get back to normal , but I have given it almost 3 years to see if there would be an improvement on my lips and smile. unfortunately the necrosis damage caused never improved as Dr Reich told me it would   but instead it looks same as the last time I saw Dr Reich and can only be corrected with surgery. I used to always take selfies and loved taking pictures but after this whole incident , I’m so self conscious, my confidence was completely gone and I barely would go anywhere . After hiding away from the world for 3 years I finally got the courage to do something about the damage on my face . had seen several doctors and was told that this can only be fixed with a tissue graft and a lip lift and the cost ranged from 15,000 to 18,000. I reached out to dr reich via phone and email to see if he wanted to make things right but I was completely ignored . I paid for the surgery 2 months ago and finally feel like I look closer to what I did before I ever went in to see dr reich . I want everyone to know my story . I found bhrc a few years ago when I was on a journey to get more lip filler, when I met with Lee she was professional polite warm and bubbly, but most importantly she was HONEST she did not want to take my money and get on to the next patient like most places Lee set me in the right direction and we ended up dissolving my(extremely) migrated filler from another place.
