Booked my anniversary dinner three weeks in advance. Everything was good to go and we were excited for our dinner cruise.
Then two days before the cruise is supposed to happen. I get a text saying "Sorry we don't have enough people for your cruise on Friday, so unfortunately we are cancelling the cruise. Please contact us to see what your options are."
So I called right away and sat on hold for thirty minutes only to get someone who answered and said please hold my system is not working. So I hold for ten more minutes only to have the representative come back on the phone to say the system is down. We can't help you. Give me your number and I'll call you back when it's fixed. I gave my number and waited an hour for a return phone call that never happened.
I called back and the wait time was much shorter. This time someone answered and said the system was still down but took all my information and said I would receive a call back when it was fixed, and it was after five their time so my call back would be in the morning.
Waited for a call back the next morning which of course never happened. I called again and waited thirty minutes to speak with a rep. I finally spoke with someone who I expressed my displeasure to. They said please give me a few minutes to look at your situation. I held for ten minutes when the rep came back on the phone and said I'm sorry sir but our events are fully booked for the next couple of months.
I'm now flabbergasted that I can't even get booked on another cruise and the only one that didn't have enough people was my date chosen. Total crock and a lie.
Needless to say I was told they were going to give me a refund, which still has not arrived and said I would get a confirmation email confirming my refund from a supervisor. That never happened either.
I feel like they don't care about their customers or their plans, and the time it took to plan the event. To give extremely little notice to make alternative plans for my anniversary with less than a day to find something new that we would enjoy. This is virtually impossible to do and no remorse or apology from the company for ruining my 10 year wedding anniversary. Plus causing me wasted time trying to get my money back.
Do not book here for any special occasions unless you want to feel like a number. That's all they are worried about $$$$. Your occasion/event and time are of no importance to this company.
If I could give negative stars I would give a negative 10.

Jennifer Reichelt is the best Sr. sales manager at Hornblower. My wife and I got married on Dreammaker last year and Jennifer made the experience a blast! She helped us step by step and made the wedding planning a piece of cake. I really appreciated that she did not give any pressure while making sure we got a beautiful, tasteful wedding. She is very honest, helpful, and experienced. She listened to what we wanted and helped us stay within our budget. In addition, the boats at Hornblower are very clean, beautiful, and classy. The boats even smell nice! When we finally met Jennifer, we knew that we finally found a venue of our dreams. There were supportive people who helped even on the day of the wedding, so Hornblower makes it really easy to get married. If you are looking for a place to get married, I recommend you to contact Jennifer right away!
The boat cruise was awesome! Given I got it for free because I asked for a demo of the food so Jennifer hooked us up! The food at our wedding was a lot better than the buffet style on the lunchtime cruise. A lot of people were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. I would like to go again but I'm partly biast because we had a free bottle of champaign because we were spoiled by Jennifer.
I'm slight shy ( blush blush) because this years Wedding Catalog 2013 includes a few photos my wedding and Jennifer along with her bridesmaids is also in there. It's awesome seeing that we are celebrates now. Haha jk! She's so nice to send us a copy. Check it out if you are in the area. I found this out because I recommended that a friend of mine to Hornblowers. The news of my photo on a catalog shocked me! What a pleasant surprise sweet surprise.

Read moreAmazing. Took my grandmother here for her 82nd birthday and she had a wonderful time! She since is an orange county native, she knew lots of history with the house and which celebs live where! Stairs are a tad bit steep, even the ones getting on the boat. If you have someone that can't climb stairs well I suggest you request to sit on the lower levels where buffet is also served on. Staff was wonderful and so helpful and attentive! Jazz music was playing the entire 2 hour cruise! It was so relaxing and played very beautifully. The gentleman playing was an independent musician so tips definitely are welcome. He was really appreciative of any and all! Upper deck is QUITE THE SIGHT! I would describe it as a sky deck/club with tons of lounge seating. We went during the day so none of the twinkle light were on at the time but the upper level has little lights and just an awesome layout for socializing etc. Many people on board were celebrating special occasions and dressed semi casual dressy. The night cruise is different from brunch cruise fyi. Brunch food is delicious, mixed drinks are delicious and so are dessert, fruit etc. Nothing to complain about with the food, tons of it and endless options. Multiple options for any and everyone, no matter age, preferences etc. If you get MOTION SICKNESS do not worry!! I am the same way and didn't get sick at all. When the boat departs and ports you do feel that but it's all actually REALLY SMOOTH. Above all else a great experience! Definitely recommend...
