Beware the event-restaurant, where the place is designed to interfere with your ability to think about the food. That’s what we found when we visited Restoration Hardware’s new restaurant in Newport Beach. (It’s a furniture store that has nothing to do with restoration and does not sell hardware.) The space is overwhelming—the brilliant lighting, the inventive and impressive half-stump-half-imitation olive trees, with fountain after fountain. It’s quite a display and a sad contrast with the ordinary and disappointing dinner you will receive. Examples—an entrée salad of lettuce topped with the same rotisserie chicken at your supermarket; a chicken sandwich that could have come from an airport grill; a burrata with peppers that was … just burrata and peppers; a roasted fish that sat alone on the plate. We were served a roasted artichoke that everyone enjoyed, but that’s all that impressed. If we had stumbled upon a small family restaurant in a Westminster strip mall, the same food would still have been plain and uninteresting. But in such a setting, atop a store that sells $12,000 couches, it’s absurd—even more so given the long waitlist. Stay away from this movie-set façade, this circus parading as a restaurant. It isn’t that at all, but a hyped-up fashion experience that will leave you eager to leave—feeling emptier at the end of it than you were when...

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the breathtaking architecture, beautifully curated showrooms, and seamless blend of indoor and outdoor spaces. Every room feels like a page out of a high-end design magazine — elegant, timeless, and inspiring.
What truly elevates the experience is the on-site rooftop restaurant. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or a leisurely coffee, the ambiance is unmatched. The design details, coastal views, and impeccable service make it the perfect place to relax and recharge.
RH Gallery is more than just a furniture store — it’s a lifestyle destination. As someone working in real estate and design-driven environments, I find it incredibly valuable for inspiration, networking, and even client meetings.
A must-visit in Newport Beach for anyone who appreciates refined aesthetics, innovative design, and...
Read moreI’m extremely disappointed and upset with the way this restaurant treated my 13-year-old granddaughter. She WAS TAKING ME TO LUNCH FOR MY BIRTHDAY AND she ordered a the salmon. The server casually asked if she wanted vegetables with it—no mention that this would be an extra charge. She assumed it was a standard side dish. Only when the bill arrived did she find out they had charged $14.00 for a simple serving of vegetables. and she was paying. This feels like blatant price-gouging and a clear case of taking advantage of a young girl who didn’t know to ask about hidden charges. It's dishonest and unacceptable. If you care about transparency, fairness, or just basic decency—this should not have happened. Sadly you showed her that servers are dishonest and that the bill is more important than being transparent. BTW - I wanted to say something but she asked me not to. Do you need business so bad that you take advantage of a...
