This whole area has a real small town kind of atmosohere, with plenty of hospitality. :) (I'm a truck driver who stopped on the way through town.)
On my first ever stop in this town, the truck stop was busy, but staff cared about me as a human being. They took the few extra seconds to say stuff like, be careful crossing the street on my way to Walmart because there have been accidents here lately.
2 separate people in 2 separate cars stopped to check on me as I walked from Walmart to the truck stop with groceries in the July heat, just to be sure I was ok. One offered a ride, and the other probably would have, but I assured her I was fine.
The cashier at the Walmart did make an effort to treat me as a customer by calling me sir, but she couldn't help accidentally talking to me like a friend, and recommending I get some shaved ice from the 4th of July stand on my way back to the truck stop. :) I think that small town attitude is way better than big city customer service, but I know some people disagree.
I believe this city has a lot of people who attempt to live by the Lord's words about loving one's neighbor as oneself. I'm not sure whether everyone was attempting to be kind to the foreigner/alien, or if some of them thought I was a local, but still, it was amazing either way. (I'm from Texas.) If this same welcome gets extended to all truckers stopping through, regardless of ethnicity or nationality, I think this truck stop could easily become known for its amazing hospitality. Of course, it would also help if there was a big parking lot for more truckers to be able to stop by and see how they're welcomed. I know, it's a mountainous area, so land for truck parking is hard to come by. Really though, this place's small town customer service has the smaller, older Love's locations in Oklahoma beat by a mile at least, and those are the ones that are best at caring about customers as...
Read moreFor travelers, and wanting to stop somewhere with some options, this place was okay. I never leave bag reviews and always do my best to keep honest reviews.
The squeegees weren’t cleaning well. The bathrooms weren’t horrible compared to some but was messy in quite a few stalls; water on floor, around toilet, full stall trash. And then since traveling far, I figured I’d double my cup so it wasn’t too hot on the hands or for transporting and then share some hot chocolate with my little one. But I was told she would have to charge me an extra cup. Even though I explained what it’s for, which is ideal. Plus, since I touched them, it’ll be thrown…so why tell a paying customer otherwise because then you’re technically wasting the cup either way. But, like I said, if I were to keep the extra cup then I’d be charged extra. Sooo, either way it’ll be thrown and they wasted money, rather then allowing a customer utilizing the cup to help with a hot cup of coffee & for our needs to use it for long travels. She went ahead and cut me off to say have a nice day. And I wasn’t rude or say anything out of line, (I wasn’t taught or grown up as such). And to me I don’t like to waste anything especially when it comes to recycling and using what’s best. But since I didn’t want an extra charge, I had to go out it back. There’s no sign that says people can’t do that, their other gas stations and others don’t do that and the older lady was short with me (12/27), and I was not happy how she handled it. I mean yes, it’s good she wasn’t loud or extra nasty, but she didn’t have to talk about it as I left like I was out of place for trying to utilize...
Read moreBought two 4 packs Juul pods. After leaving, discovered I’d been given the wrong strength. When attempted to exchange for the higher strength, was told that TN state law prevents return of any tobacco products. I looked it up. Electronic nicotine products aren’t subject to tobacco laws, there is no such law for the return or exchange of unopened products. I let them know I knew they were lying, and they finally admitted it’s not state law, it’s just them. They gave me the wrong product and refused to correct. Not that it matters to them, given their high volume of business, but the several thousand $$$ per year we spend on gas, snacks, drinks, juul pods etc per year, will be going elsewhere from now on. I don’t like liars and I don’t do business with establishments that...
