I wrote a similar review on the sevierville location and here I am, same gripes with the newport location. Called at about 8p on Saturday the 19 of November. I was placed immediately on hold with no greeting or even a "hold please". Then waited on hold for almost 8 minutes listening to the God-forsaken and ear-splitting chicken wing song that serves as thier hold music before finally hanging up. We tried this location because we were in the area and figured, surely to goodness, they can't be doing as bad of a job as the sevierville location has these last few months. Sorry to say, but they are just as bad. Putting a customer on hold with no greeting is exceptionally bad customer service and very rude phone etiquette. I know it's Saturday and they are busy but there is no excuse for not taking two seconds to say "can you please hold" before subjecting your customer to HORRIBLE hold advertisement and then then forgetting you put them on hold, as near as I an tell. Long story short, I did not try again. I am not as patient as some other reviewers....I refuse to stay on hold for 30 minutes to order a pizza. Pizza Hut used to have the best pizza around. Now you can't get ahold of them to order. Based on the reviews on Pizza Hut as a whole, this seems to be thier new company policy and a company-wide problem and not just these two locations. Pizza Hut has now lost the business of two die-hard pizza hut...
Read moreThe dining-in experience at Pizza Hut died along with Keith Haring. But their food is still oretty much on point. My wife and I were staying in Hot Springs, NC, when the Great Southern Windstorm of 2024 threw the whole town into a blackout. All the restaurants were closed because they couldn't cook! We had to drive the 34 miles from Hot Springs and back over the border into Newport to get dinner. Y'all. I've never been that glad for a Meat Lovers pizza in my life. It was hot and good and necessary. My wife got a melt (Buffalo chicken, I think) and she ate the whole thing. The dining room was dark. No music. Pre-folded and flattened boxes dominated the right side of the room. No soda fountain, either. Sometimes, you need more than a 20-ounce Diet Mountain Dew to wash down a pizza and some cheesesticks. Man, I feel old. If I had walked in there a few decades ago and said, "Hey, look at all these books I read," they would have treated me like a god. The food at the Newport Pizza Hut was really good that night, and we were grateful for it. Pizza Hut locations are NOT consistent in quality (I'm looking at you, Oneida, TN), but Newport did the name...
Read moreWent here and ordered $35.00 and tipped 20% on a carry out order. They forgot the wings and charged me. I thought the pizza tasted weird and tried another slice, the same weird chemical taste. Four hours later, I was throwing up and had diarrhea for 24 hours because my body literally would not let me digest this food. Tried calling the store 4 times to talk to a manager and tried complaining through the Pizza Hut app, but couldn’t get in touch with anyone. I then called corporate to get my refund, and three business days later, still no refund that was promised to me. So, now I’ve been on hold yet again for now twenty minutes again and we we will see if they speak to me… so if you like getting ripped off, inedible food, getting food poisoning and horrible customer service, this is the place for you. I worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years and understand mistakes happen, but this is ridiculous. Not only am I cheated with the order, I also missed a days work for treating myself to this place, which was the only thing I had to eat all day....
