The Queen of Hospitality at Ruby Tuesday – Kat in Newport, TN
If you’re anywhere near Newport, TN and don’t dine at the Ruby Tuesday just to experience Kat’s service, you’re seriously missing out on one of life’s finest joys. I don’t say this lightly: Kat is, without question, the greatest server to ever grace a restaurant floor — not just in Tennessee, but anywhere.
From the moment we were seated, Kat brought a level of warmth, energy, and professionalism that turned an ordinary night out into something unforgettable. She greeted us like old friends, anticipated our needs before we even realized we had them, and guided us through the menu with expert precision and genuine enthusiasm. It’s not just that she’s attentive — it’s like she has a sixth sense for perfect timing.
Need a refill? Already on the table. Special request? Done before you finish the sentence. Questions about the menu? Kat delivers answers with the insight of a seasoned chef and the sparkle of someone who loves what they do.
And let’s talk about attitude — upbeat, friendly, funny, and completely focused on making sure you leave happier than you arrived. She made every person at our table feel seen and valued. Honestly, it felt less like being served and more like being hosted by a dear friend who just happens to be incredibly good at her job.
Kat doesn’t just represent Ruby Tuesday — she elevates it. If the company isn’t naming a training program or an award after her, they’re missing a huge opportunity. She’s not just a server. She’s a hospitality legend in the making.
So here’s the bottom line: if you’re going to Ruby Tuesday in Newport, ask for Kat. Scratch that — insist on Kat. You won’t just have a meal. You’ll have an experience. And you’ll never forget who...
Read moreA girlfriend & I stopped for a bite after her son's soccer game ended. When we walked in, there was no one at the hostess stand. We looked around & only saw a single waitress speaking to a table. After a couple minutes, we decided to go to the restroom to wash up & then went to the bar & sat down. A woman with pigtail braids came & went 3 times never looking at us or acknowledging us. Several other employees walked behind the bar but no one stopped. 17 (seventeen) minutes later, the bartender appeared & asked what she could get us to drink. While we were waiting, we had plenty of time to check out the decor & the word 'sad' came to mind. I ordered a water & my cohort, a beer. My water was immediate, but the bartender had to go to the back for her beer. When the bartender returned with the beer, she took our food order. The food was out promptly, but while we waited, we watched the bartender retreat to the kitchen & emerge chewing a tater tot with another in hand - apparently the reason for part of the 'decor' I photographed. I had the chicken tacodillos; she had the chicken quesadilla - well, chicken & cheese only with sour cream only. My tacodillos were quite tasty! The onions & mushrooms were sauteed & added greatly to the flavor. The cheesy sauce on them eliminated the need for additional condiments although sour cream was on the plate. Unfortunately, the tomato/pico was NOT fresh so I avoided that after a taste. I was told the quesadilla was good. I would return since restaurants in the area are limited after 9pm & the food was good. The place could definitely use a...
Read moreOk, this is probably the dirtiest restaurant we have ever been in. Our server was good, she was working hard. Not too impressed with this place. We will probably never go to another Ruby Tuesday.
UPDATE: Ruby Tuesdays contacted me regarding this review. They wanted to make things right with us. They were going to have the regional manager contact me to go over what we experienced. The best thing they could do is teach people how to clean and run a restaurant, not ignore the truth. I gave them my phone # to call and speak with me. It has been a month, and they have not called at this point i do not care enough to help them. Nor have they contacted me through email. I guess they just don't care enough. There were 2 employees taking care of the salad bar, and it is not very big, yet nobody to clean the restaurant? They used a filthy dirty bucket of water and dirty rag to whipe the tables. There were not many people in the restaurant for a Friday night. I would say about 60% capacity. So since the we have had time to think about this experience more. I decided to downgrade the review from 2 stars to 1 only because 1 is the lowest you can give. This is a national chain of restaurants and this has to be the worst customer service that we have ever experienced. I see why were we live there are none around. I am not the type to complain, but this is an embarrassment! If you look at the reviews we have added, we never give bad reviews. I would stay far away from this location, and from this company! We should have crossed the street and gone to The...
