Ordered in the app. $20 7 pc meal with mashed potatoes. Ordered fries and Mac n cheese. Ordered at 7:38. Got the alert the order was ready. Headed inside to pick up but my order wasn’t ready. Waited 10 minutes while being ignored while an employee talked on the phone. When the girl finally came to the counter I mentioned my mobile order and ordered an order of fried pickles. Another 10 minutes go by and I get my pickles. The girl rudely attempts to tell me they have to give me original recipe for the white meat. I explained I didn’t want it because our family doesn’t like original recipe and to just give extra crispy in dark. The girl rudely says make up your mind you want white meat then you want this and that. You’re gonna get what I have. I said no ma am. When you pay $35 for food you want to get what you order don’t you? She said it will take 25 minutes for white meat. I also requested fresh fries which made her mad as mine had sat out all this time getting cold. I said I’m not going to wait 25 more minutes it has already been 20. She continued to yell at me and I asked for a manager. She said which one I have 2. I reply both. The manager was nice enough. Did his best to make it right. At this point I told him to give me whatever so I can get out of there and feed my family as it was now 8pm. I get home and the whole bucket of chicken is original recipe. Honestly I do not know how they stay in business. If I’m paying for a product I feel it should be the product I order. As for the young lady that clearly needs to work on her customer service skills, she needs a different line of work or serious training. Read moreUpdate…. Tonight 7/22/25 we stopped once again to grab some KFC on our way home. My wife did the order on her phone. Once we arrived the head cook, Noah, came out and told us they were out of white meat and offered several substitutions. He was super apologetic and when he returned with our revised order he was once again very apologetic. We told him it was fine and it was our fault for stopping so late (we try not to do that out of respect for the workers). He even said we can go online and complain about our experience. No way am I gonna complain over that! His great personality and attitude made my wife and I talk on the way home about how the Newport TN KFC has really really improved in the last year! Great job Noah and all those who have helped make this store great!
Tonight, 3-30-25, my wife and I visited our local KFC at 805 Cosby Hwy, Newport, TN to walk in and pick up our food to go. We’ve ate there many many times over the years and had noticed a gradual decline in the atmosphere, personnel and cleanliness of this store. Today was our first visit back in a while because of the above mentioned areas. We were shocked by the politeness and manners of the young man, Cody, who waited on us! He went above and beyond serving us! Updating us regularly and apologizing for the delay while our fries cooked. My wife and I discussed the complete change in cleanliness and how well the other employees looked and acted as they worked. My wife spoke to the manager on duty, Joe, and his professionalism seemed to be a reflection of the other improvements we witnessed. Read moreWe purchased 2 orders of chicken strips to go. Each order comes with a dipping sauce, we ordered 2 additional sauces and asked for honey to go with the extra set of biscuits ordered. When arriving home there were no sauces or honey in the bag or boxes. I called the store, spoke with a girl who said I had to drive back to get them, they could not refund my card. Asked to speak with the manager. She insisted she would have to see the receipt, no receipt was placed in the bag. Yes, when I hollared at my husband for the receipt, I cursed at him, but not at the person on the phone. She then developed attitude and stated that she did not care to do anything about the problem when I told her there was no receipt. Multiple times thru the conversation she reiterated that she did not care to do anything about my problem. She refused to give me her name, when I insisted she put me on hold for 5 minutes. She came back on the line and stated that she had spoken to her RGM and she did not have to do anything and as we had ordered on line, we had to obtain any monies from Grubhub. The "Manager" then again refused to give me her name, I asked for the store managers name and her reply was that she would be in at 4 pm tomorrow and I could call and talk to her then. She stated she did not have to give me any names and I had to call tomorrow and then without a word placed me on extended hold which I finally disconnected at the 5 minute mark per the timer on my phone.
