There's a lot of wildlife here if you look for it. Many blackbirds !!! :) There's a varied and safe jungle gym area for kids. There are exercise trails and a place to do outdoor calisthenics with instructions and equipment to do the exercise on. One can get a permit to have a BBQ. There are tennis courts that people play pickle ball and tennis on - the courts :) are bit cracked and sloping in places but still serviceable. There is the peaceful Charles River where people canoe, kayak, and speed boat but there is a dam and a bridge past moody street so the boaters have to be aware of that. The paths are maintained and have signs, and truly relaxing to walk through the mourning DEW to jog, cycle, or run back there. Huge variety of plants and trees. I've seen turtles, hawks, snakes, chipmunks, swans, geese, and all kinds of birds at the Cove. It's a fun spot and if you walk onto " the Island " - not an actual Island but a kind of distinct neighborhood of Waltham, the paths actually lead back up to the Charles River walk past the Waltham Watch factory, Brelundi restaurant, and on up to Moody street and beyond. In Autumn, Spring, & summer its a magical,...

Our dog's favorite park to walk. It has a great loop that allows us to do short or longer loops depending on how much energy our dog has. She also gets to see lots of people and other dogs but there is plenty of room to keep distance between people if needed. There is a great picnic area that is full of fantastic smells in the summer months. There are also lots of grills where you can bring your own coals to cook your food. Great atmosphere and a great view of the river makes for a great place to spend...

This place was wonderful for a large gathering. The picnic area was spacious and accommodating, complete with a huge field for playing and a nice playground, along with a pleasant walking area around the lake. I also noticed some people fishing in the lake. The only issue, as with other public parks, is that the restrooms close...

There's fairly large sand pit with random construction vehicles in varying stages of operability. Great for kids to play. The playground is pretty good, there's a large area with picnic tables and grills (not sure if a permit is needed to grill), and it's cove on the river for easy fishing for sunfish.

Grew up nearby in Great grandparents home built in 1889. I used to play at this park as a child. So happy to see that land is being cared for, play equipment updated and enjoyed by so many generations. Missed seeing the "yellow submarine" but great niece and nephew thought this was the best park ever!
