I'll review the show next, but first let me say that the venue is truly wonderful. As a young person, many moons ago, I went to the Newtown Theater when it was just showing movies, and while it was lovable back then, overall it was in rough shape.
Now, the theater is fantastically restored. Still has the old charm. But the floors are nice, the seats are comfortable. The concessions are good.
The people that work there are just fantastic. Nice! Helpful! In a good mood, with smiles on their faces.
The downstairs has been restored and looks brand new.
A saw a show there last year, and sat in the balcony. Great time.
Now...This was our second time seeing Harvest & Rust - a GREAT Neil Young tribute band. With amazing musicianship, a great setlist (different each time, bonus) and just extremely likeable stage presence. You will be entertained, and your appreciation for Neil Young's amazing and prolific songwriting will grow even more and be enriched. A super worthy tribute.
I can't speak to the quality of other acts, but this band was top notch. Find a show that speaks to you...
Read moreI did enjoy coming to the Newtown Theatre at first. It was a lovely theatre with lovely staff. But as I kept coming here, my experience and enjoyment has declined rapidly. For starters, the audio in the theatre is TERRIBLE. It is so terrible that you can hear people eating and talking in full volume. Secondly, this theatre has been doing more musicals and events lately and not that many movies which makes it not really a movie theatre. Finally, the fact that they charge non-members $10 and members $5 just for spending like $50ish dollars is outrageous. If you ask me, all prices should be equal no matter what. To put my last experience into words, I went to see Apollo 11 and the audio was so terrible and I complained about how the people in the balcony wouldn't shut their mouths and they didn't do anything so I ended up getting a full refund. I feel as if this theatre can improve greatly and I do not seeing myself coming to this theatre...
Read moreMy wife and I and 13 friends attended the Eagles Tribute with “The Limit.” The Newtown Theatre is a great place to visit as a setting for intimate shows. Every seat is close to the stage. The sound system and lighting are top notch. The refurbishing job you took on over the summer has made the venue that much better. Congratulations to you and all the effort you put in to your wide variety of shows. The performance by the “Limit”, was tremendous. Their lead singer, Rick Wrigley, was on point with his lead vocals and duties as the M/C for the night. The sold-out house enjoyed the musicians to the point that if you shut your eyes, you would almost think you were hearing the original Eagles.
A great time...
