If you are ever in Chicago and you have some free time, I would definitely recommend this place! Groupon had a great deal so I had to give this place a try.
It is not your regular spa place, so make sure you do your research on Korean bath house before going in!
Look at their website and decide if you are wanting any services. If you are interested, I would recommend getting there before 9:00am. The place gets super busy which means your services might happen later. If you are on a time schedule, get in early so you can get out before the crowd.
I didn't know if I would ever come back to Chicago so I wanted to try whatever I could. I was able to sign up for a gold scrub and V-steam. Make sure you take off all jewelry if you are planning on getting the scrub.
You have to take off your shoes before entering. You will grab your outfit depending upon size. Look at your wrist to see what locker # you have. You will put all your stuff inside and head to take your shower and enjoy the steam room, hot tubs, cold pool...keep in mind...everyone is NUDE at this point.
I went and got my V-Steam done 1st...that was very interesting while you sit and have steam going up there. I have no clue if anything helped, but at least I can say I tried it. You sit on this chair type thing with a hole. You are draped in this huge brown cloth while steam is happening. They give you a hand fan just in case you get too hot!! Its about a 30min of sitting and chilling.
The signs said to steam and use the hot tub before getting your gold scrub! Once they are ready for you, they will hold up your # so you know who to go too!! This is one thing I highly recommend everyone doing once. It's a very unique experience and you seriously feel like all the dead skin is off of you.
You have to be comfortable having a stranger touching you while you are naked on the table. I didn't like the fact we were all lined up instead of personal rooms, but after I was finished...I completely understand why.
I felt amazing after I had my scrub done. Next stop was the co-ed area. All the rooms were awesome!! If I lived nearby, I would be here all the time and definitely would make it a date night/hang out place with my friends. I could have stayed at this place forever.
I didn't eat anything since I wanted to get back to my vacation. This place is far from downtown but worth the $30 uber ride. The location of this place looks like a neighborhood but don't worry...its there!
What I saw others do and would recommend.... bring a water bottle so you have something to drink at all times. If you are planning on going somewhere else from here, I would make sure to have your shampoo, hairstuff, makeup, etc so you can get ready there. I would also grab a towel when you head to the co-ed area. You will be sweating in the rooms.
If you didn't buy the extra $5 pass for the base room...I would recommend to give that room a try. It felt great to lay there and feel the pain go away.
They have a movie theater in the place, so you can watch movies. I saw others bring books, playing cards, headphones...and people were just hanging out and enjoying the spa.
When you are ready to leave, you will check out up front...if there is a line...get in the back of that line...everyone has to check-in and check-out the same way.
Everyone there was great! The spa was clean and they kept checking the temperature of the water, and the services were worth it! Must place to visit if you want a...
Read moreI brought my partner here as part of my partner's bday activities for the day. We weren't impressed. This place is extremely gendered and oddly religious. So much that they have Adam and Eve on the walls and religious movies playing. If you're trans/nonbinary, from another religion, or an untraditional cisgendered person, you may likely feel out of place. The staff is really rude. When I walked in for the first time, I had no guidance. The only guidance was being told to pick a size of clothes (which were only pink for grown female ADULTS.) I'm not sure if they treat the people who automatically go for the services they try to upsell better than the rest. 🤷 I put my shoes in a cubby where I saw other shoes at because again no one gave any instruction (i'll get more into this at the end.) I got help figuring out the locker situation from a kind random stranger. I went to different rooms, some were fine and some seemed gimmicky. I pulled out my phone in a "co-ed area" and one of their workers rudely told me not to take pics or videos. I don't know what they have to hide, but whatever I guess. I don't plan on returning anyway. The Ionization room had a "men and women" side and a "womens" side and both my partner and I noticed that the "womens" side had more comfortable looking beds than the other side, which is odd. Toward the end, I went to get my belongings. I couldn't find my shoes, I was going back and forth in the locker room looking for them as the workers watched me and not once asked me if I needed assistance with anything. I eventually went up to the "receptionist" desk by the locker room and asked about my shoes and the person there pointed at my shoes. My shoes were open toe shoes on the floor and upside down collecting dust. I mentioned that it's not okay and disrespectful to do that to someone's shoes especially since they were watching me struggle to find my shoes and they told me I should of put them in the locker. I told them that I put them in the cubbies like the other shoes I saw walking in and no one had gave me instructions, even while they were there watching. She did not give one care or let alone an apology for her rude behavior. I go to finish checking out and mention the situation, the worker was questioning me about the situation and never apologized on behalf of the establishment. She goes on to look for my ID. I'm already upset because of the other situation. She takes a very long time and almost handed me another person's ID, like not all brown skinned people are the same person you know. I reiterated my fob number and even had to write down my name for her. I finally got my ID. Thankfully this was the end of my...

Open for twenty-four hours, what an escape. Upon entering, I showed my coupon; 40$ as apposed to 60$.Traded my drivers license for a red, electronic key tag. Was instructed to remove my shoes and enter the ladies locker room. Took a quick shower and sat in the steam room for fifteen minutes. Changed into my pink scrubs with the matching socks that I packed. Excited to head out to the main floor.
No idea what to try first, I peeked inside all of the rooms and took a few pictures. I couldn't figure out why everyone was asleep. I ended up starting with the Base Rock room; lying on a heated slab that melts away aches, improves inflammation and aids in lymphatic drainage. I fell asleep.
I walked over to the Arctic Room; little stools inside this chilly space to sit and wake up. Said to improve brain function and immune response. Next stop, the Salt Room; improves circulation, breathing and helps with weight loss. Couldn't stay long, it was time for my appointment. Was asked to remove everything even my jewelry. Escorted to the table and encouraged to lay on my stomach. Warm water was poured over my body and a hot, wet towel was placed on my back. Then the scrubbing began; long upward strokes and circles to exfoliate layers of dead skin and improve overall circulation. Let me say, she scrubbed me two shades lighter. I actually saw all of the disgusting dead skin being sloughed off. This process is about forty minutes followed by another quick shower.
I put my scrubs back on and headed to the main floor. Grabbed a ginger lemonade and sat on a mat inside the Fire Sudatorium. Benefits of this intense heat include total body relaxation as well as a release of toxins. It is not recommended that anyone stay longer than fifteen minutes. You are strongly encouraged to hydrate after your visit. I only managed to stay inside for eleven minutes. Yes, I was relaxed.
Every room I visited, without any effort I fell asleep. Now I know why everyone was asleep, the experience is so relaxing that you can't help yourself. Everything melts away, the stresses of your day, any worries you may have and all of your aches are gone. Definitely will be returning as it was...
