I have never written a review but I have never before felt like something was soooo misrepresented as this experience. We signed up for the pumpkin express that left Atlanta and took us to Arcadia. On the website it states “Take a 20 minute ride down the tracks to the Arcadia pumpkin patch, where a complimentary fall festival awaits! The fall festival includes hay rides, an obstacle course, fall games and face painting”. While everything listed is technically accurate it was far from what was reality and what we paid for. First it took 20 minutes because they never went above 15 mph. It felt like we could have rode our bikes faster. Second, the pumpkin patch is actually at the high school. Not a patch but just pumpkins littered about. Third the complimentary fall festival was one of the most laughable things I have ever seen. They had a kiddie maze that was caution tape on some sticks. The obstacle course was a hay bale with tires in between with one more bale of hay. They had one corn hole game and two other toss type games. It was too muddy for a hay ride, which I am thankful for now, because I am afraid of what it would have looked like. Is any one a Spongebob fan? Remember the episode where Mr Krabs tries to get money from the kids on vacation and slaps together a playground called Krabby Land? Yeah, that was better then this...we ended up walking over to the football field to watch an elementary football game. That was at least entertaining. I know this is harsh and I believe this could be a great thing, but they need to invest heavily in this idea, but until then stay away and...
Read moreThis rating is for the Dinner Express. My family and I were so disappointed. There are no signs to direct you to where to bored the train. We saw a couple running in the rain towards a guy standing outside the train so we followed them. There is an unstable stepping stool to get into the train. Once in, we had to go up a very narrow and steep staircase. Walking through the first box car was very old with ripped seats. The Dinner box car was dated and the tables can barely fit 4 adults. The box car was decorated with cheap homemade or Dollar Tree Holloween decorations. The sound system was so bad, you could barely hear the music. The 3 course Dinner was NOT GOOD AT ALL! The salad dressing was nasty, the main course was served luke warm and was not even good, and the dessert was a gross pumpkin spice pudding bread with a teaspoon of vanilla ice cream on the side. No dinner rolls came with the the dinner and no straws available for your drinks. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY! The 1 bathroom available was absolutely DISGUSTING and about half the size of a airplane's bathroom. No scenic views at all! I would not recommend this train ride for anyone elderly or plus sized due to the narrow steep staircase and tiny bathroom. The 1 star rating is for the staff. The staff is the only good thing about this Dinner Express. They were all very nice. Otherwise, the train ride deserves no star rating. All I can say is my family and I had a good laugh because this train...
Read moreI dont know where to start except to say if you are bigger than a small child don't expect to be able to fit in the dining car. I don't want to trash talk the whole thing but I will just be honest and you an decide for yourself: the train is filthy, there's a teeny tiny bathroom and NO WHERE TO WASH YOUR HANDS. ( pretty sure health dept would frown on that). The air is stale on the train and smells like a dirty restaraunt. The soup was served in a cheap fake wooden bowl like the kind u can buy at dollar tree. The " main course" was okay served on a plastic plate, and the Chocolate mouse was about 1/4 cup served in a little plastic cup. Pretty sure it was Jello Brand. They had a Frank Sinatra CD on repeat qnd it wasn't Christmas songs. I never thought I'd tire of Frank Sinatra but 2 hours of it is too much. To sum it up, I'm embarrassed for them and equally angry that I was duped into spending 160.00 on what I thought was going to be a classy Christmas surprise for my fiance. I think McDonald's is classier. We couldn't get off the train...
