I visited this location for a soccer tournament (The Cerritos Cup) and the location was huge. Aside from lots of fields, and a crazy amount of parking, I will note that while we didn't play on what looked like the nicest fields, the rest of the fields were ok. There was one big spot on one of the fields we played on that was filled with sand (not great for a soccer game), and sometimes the fields we're so close together that parents from opposite fields were right up against each others' backs (facing different directions) watching different games. Many field also didn't have nets to stop missed shots, so there was some running around chasing balls, as well as a few balls flying around the food trucks (from rogue shots in the surrounding games). The coordination was also very poor, with parking staff directing traffic to odd locations, and two lane roads closed to one lane for no clear reason (which caused traffic issues). At a complex that big, with thousands of guests coming in and out, you'd normally give a pass on some of these issues, However, I'll add that each car had to pay $15 to park (campers = $30) in addition to tournament fees. With thousands of cars in and out over the weekend, the facility could have easily agreed to fix some divots in the fields, and have a few more staff working to help the flow of traffic ... and still made a...
Read moreThis place is terrible compared to other places we travel to for ECNL & ECRL events. The turf fields are rock hard and not groomed, might as well be playing on fake grass patio carpet. The grass fields have too much dirt. The bathroom facilities are so far away from fields. The area has too much dirt around it for a soccer complex. They rip you off on parking charges every day, never giving any kind of discount when you are there for multiple day events. The location is terrible for many reasons, hard to get into, long waiting lines in car and right next to the busy I-15 freeway so air quality is always terrible for your athletes. Our players that may have asthma always have issues here between the vehicle air pollution, dust from all the dirt, pollen from the valley and being an equestrian area. Also, accommodations in the area are terrible compared to other cities, with hardly in hotel options nears the fields. Plus they close the fields for just a little wind and could care less that you spend thousands to travel for events held here. All in all my least liked location for all soccer events I have attended for years of ECNL and ECRL events with my several children that play soccer. If you are a coach and care about your players keep them away from events held here. I'll take Oceanside or Del Mar Surf soccer complexes over this...
Read moreWe were here for the Billy Currington concert aka Boots In The Park Festival. I had no clue what to expect of the facilities. As the title says it's primary usage is for sports. Lots and lots of soccer fields and plenty of parking. They charged $15 to park. We arrived at 7pm just in time to see Currington perform at 8. You can bring beach chairs but you are put in a section pretty far away from the stage. However, if you were here for the whole festival it would've been a good idea so you had a place to sit and chill in between performers. The entire area designed for concert viewing was grass so it was easy on the back and legs to stand. They had some retail booths along the back selling clothes and accessories. They had plenty of food and drink choices and when we arrived by 7 there were no lines for anything. We were able to walk up within 50 yards of the stage for a great view. The sound was sufficient, not great but enjoyable. Exiting was a snap and organized. There were portapotties in the parking lot that had no lines which was excellent, making for a simple departure. I would definitely come back. If your here for anything during the day plan on either bringing an umbrella or baking in the sun because there isn't 1 tree. There isn't anything...
