I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tenmaya Japanese Restaurant, which has been open for just about two weeks. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the restaurant's atmosphere. It exudes a modern, clean, and comfortable vibe that immediately makes you feel at ease. The sleek design and thoughtful decor reflect a contemporary take on traditional Japanese aesthetics, creating an inviting and pleasant environment.
The service at Tenmaya was exceptional. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly, making sure that every aspect of the meal was taken care of with precision. Their knowledge of the menu and their genuine enthusiasm added a personal touch to the dining experience.
For lunch, I opted for the sashimi and sushi set, which was nothing short of incredible. The freshness of the fish was evident in every bite, and the sushi was expertly prepared. The highlight of the meal, however, was the Wagyū sushi. This dish stood out with its rich, tender beef that was perfectly complemented by the sushi rice and accompanying ingredients. Each element of the dish was well-balanced and flavorful, showcasing the chef’s skill and attention to detail.
To round off the meal, I tried the yuzu cheesecake for dessert. This dish was a delightful ending to a fantastic lunch. The cheesecake had a light, creamy texture and a subtle citrus flavor from the yuzu that was both refreshing and satisfying.
Overall, my experience at Tenmaya was superb. The combination of a stylish, comfortable setting, attentive service, and delectable food makes it a standout addition to the local dining scene. Whether you're a fan of Japanese cuisine or simply looking for a new place to enjoy a well-crafted meal, Tenmaya is definitely...
Read moreMy first visit was so good we had to go back again already (and will be going back again and again). The ambiance is an upscale but relaxed Japanese restaurant. I felt immediately welcome.
Our wait staff was attentive and seemed genuinely happy. They answered questions about the menu and made suggestions. All good signs for what was to come... THE FOOD! And some sake. And a beer from Okinawa Japan seemed appropriate. The sake glass set was playful and set the mood for our meal. We started with edamame and the jalapeno poppers with spicy tuna (nice crunch).
Our table shared several rolls and split them for the variety. We started off with some great nigiri. The tuna was a beautiful deep red and had a great meaty texture. Next was some rich Scottish salmon that is really just some of the best salmon I've had. And then we rounded that plate out with some subtle yellow tail.
The sake roll is one of our favorites to get here due to being fans of their Scottish salmon. I remembered to grab pictures of the protein fiber roll (the name may sound boring, but it is delicious with great texture), Deja Vu Roll (insert I've had it before joke - and order it because it is fantastic). And the last picture (but not roll) was the sushi pizza (not fish on a baked dough). It is a great example of how their menu uses texture. There is some nori coated in sushi rice and fried until super crispy and crunchy, which is then topped with spicy tuna and spicy crab.
I don't remember the other rolls we had, but I do remember splitting some ube cheesecake and yuzu cheesecake as a nice end to the meal. And now I'm hungry again...
Read moreWe had been wanting to go here for a while, but since we tend to have an early lunch/brunch, we tend to miss it since it doesn't open until noon.
We were finally able to go today and appreciated how quickly the food arrived. They may have a later opening, but it seems to be so that everything will be ready once you place your order. My sister's order took a little longer, but it was understandable since she ordered steak which takes a while.
The food is beautifully presented and the restaurant itself is well decorated. I could see it as a place to go to for a special occasion.
I was happy they had a vegan roll section as well as vegetarian appetizers to choose from.
The waitresses were so attentive, like right when I was about to ask for more water, our waitress came to refill my glass before I even had a chance to ask.
And when they saw how many pictures I was taking, one of them offered to take a picture of my sister and me together.
Which reminds me that as this was all happening I had left my purse in our booth, but I saw the other waitress move to stand in front of it to protect it.
This act of thoughtfulness extends to even the girls' bathroom where feminine products were offered for free, which means a great deal when you're a woman.
Even the pen I was given to pay the check made me smile because it was so "kawaii", Japanese for cute!
All this added up to a good experience that I...
