Hudson Ridge Apartments — Attraction in North Bergen

Maria is reliable and neighbors are nice and kind. Although the apt itself was old and it was hard for me at the first time and first winter(heater did not work well even after replaced, I needed purchase small heater by myself), I lived there happily thanks to people around the apt.

(Previous comments) I am thinking about moving even though having moved in. The construction upstairs is too noisy, I did not hear about it before coming in😭 I trusted Maria, residents are nice. But property itself is so problematic.

(What happened on August 27) Horrible, the dirty brown water is leaking from the ceiling suddenly. Of course I called emergency around 11 PM but am still waiting at 11:40 PM. I wanted to sleep. Painful 😖

(A day after the problem)Maintenance team came after I slightly slept around 2 AM and inspected the room above from outside of my room, and apologized slightly and returned. I am wondering the cracks on the ceiling is leaving as cracks, they didn't inspect my room at this time. I have to clean the dirty brown water alone. How many towels do I have to have? During the business hours, the construction upstairs is so noisy. But I have to work from home sometimes, after construction the above, the sounds like water comes from the ceiling. Also, some guys in upstairs are making arguments during the construction. Noisy. Horrible. To stop leaking water as soon as possible, I sent texts while I was waiting for the response from emergency on 27th midnight. I understand their business hours so, I sent an email to management as well around 10am on 28th, I got response after 5pm on 28th. The water stopped once, but leaked again and again. My former landlord worked quickly and apologized really sincerely such an occasion.

(2 weeks after the leaking) Hudson Ridge promised the inspection the ceiling on Sept 17 but they did not come. Stressful. I have to work and have not plenty time to company with the ceiling problem. Also, there are double key system for my entrance. However, one does not work. The guy who came told me that this apartment does not use the one, the camera work, so that is enough. If so, why there are the double lock system? I am over 40 years old, but the guy treated me as a teenager. I can't trust them.

The landlord has obligation to warrant habitability for tenants, but I could not sleep the first week. Please pay attention to select...

Great people and society my experience was close to 3 year , Maria is one of the great and professional sup at this society who is managing well and actively taking care of request , mostly busy so need to find time like early morning hours or before closing. Only little drawback is sound between floor which is easily audible. Hudson River view is the great point here whole manhattan is visible. Hard to find parking on society but pretty much available on road , north Bergen library has machine if you need parking ticket . Right opposite to apt it there is Dublin donuts. Pharmacy is close by and guttenberg town has all small shop for daily groc items which is walkable , car is not needed at all at this place if you don’t have kids. I can answer more if any one...

I don't know about living here, but I went to tour an apartment and it was a weird experience. First, it seemed they sent the maintenance guy to show me the place. He barely spoke to me and raced to the apartment, I was practically running behind him. The apartment they showed was a studio and looked horrific. The carpet and every other surface was disgusting. They told me then that it was being renovated but why would I send an application for that apartment not knowing what it will look like in the end. It was an old building and there was obviously many layers of paint coating the walls. It felt very unprofessional which was surprising because the contact up until then seemed professional.
