Edit: I appreciate the frank response by the business owner. I certainly don't intend to pin a negative review for something done unintentionally, hence bumping up the total stars to 4.
Of added context, we were seated for several minutes without the menu, so we verbally ordered the rodizio without seeing the menu. This indication isn't shown on the menu on the website either. Additionally, none of my party has seen the signs regarding the 4% at the venue. Perhaps we were enjoying our time too much - which is exactly why we chose Brazeiro - to not notice the signs, wherever they were placed under the dark red lighting. Lastly, the structure of the receipt from the new POS is definitely misleading if customers are not clearly notified of the fee in advance.
I would highly appreciate it if customers are made aware of the surcharge by the servers at the time of ordering to avoid any confusion when done enjoying their time and paying the check. Thanks again for the quick response. I look forward to the live music coming back again.
I've visited Brazeiro for 5+ years since pre-pandemic. I always loved the service, the friendliness of all staff and the warm atmosphere (especially when they had live music weekends). However, this review is based on my recent observation of how they charge the bill.
They have two separate pricing, one for card price and the other for cash. I'm not sure if they always prepared the check this way since I only realized it this time when I got home. With these two price options, you would think that by paying cash, you are getting a discount as an added bonus, but if you don't have cash, you just pay for what you consumed. This isn't too surprising since there are a number of businesses that give you cash discounts.
I should have looked closer.
Cash price is the actual price of the dinner without any discount, and they ADD A 4% SURCHARGE ON TOP OF WHAT YOU CONSUMED if you're paying with plastic.
It's my fault for not taking a closer look before paying, but this is malicious practice. We've NEVER BEEN NOTIFIED once during our visit that we'd need to pay an additional fee based on our method of payment. Had they done so, it would have been understandable.
When it comes to my expectations of a restaurant, I care less if the quality of food or service fluctuates from time to time, but it frustrates me to see how a restaurant silently deceives their customers for petty gains. Sadly, I will not be returning to a restaurant that I've frequented for many years, so as not to support their...
Read more(How sad is it that they answer and lie about us not leaving tip) when me and my husband always go and leave good tips for the table. Very sad. Never going back, and no one I know would be going back. Poor management. I went to eat with my in-laws there yesterday for a special event. Our bill was 164 dollars and they had the gratuity placed not as an option, we only had cash for the tip. So we scratched the gratuidity and told them. They charged us 200 dollars. And came to the table to say the card was denied when I put the right money on it. I decided to put some extra money either way. But when they saw the tip they felt upset. Because we order rodizio which is 40 dollars each. They didn’t bring us the right meats cooked at the temperature we asked for, they filled us out with sausages or at least tried and didn’t provide almost any food/ meat. We asked them to please remove the tip because it was abuse at that point. The waiter gave us an attitude and left to talk to the manager. The manager came in telling us paying them the tip was not optional that the people from the place needed to eat to and it was our obligation. My mother in law before she got her title was a waiter raising two small kids. She knows this wasn’t Wright. At that point I just had given up. I was going to tip them regardless or their bad service in this occasion because I’ve been going there for 4 years and they are usually fine. But she told him the truth tipping is not an obligation. We wanted to leave them something on cash and something reasonable like 20 dollars even though they didn’t deserve it. When I was leaving the money on the table, the manager told me “we don’t need your money” with an attitude. And afterwards followed my in-law outside to tell her “if you don’t have money to pay a tip don’t go out to eat” Is sad because even if the food is not that good they are the only place in the area that makes decent meat. The quality of the meat is not the best anymore, they try to give you everything but meat and they often forget about your table. They even serve old cuts and people who actually eat there can taste when the meat is old. I know the economy is hard right now but is not necessary to be disrespectful or force people to tip what they feel they deserve when they don’t. Please better your services brazeiro I would love to go back and not be...

I have had terrible experiences in the past with my food being over cooked and tasting burned, I have bought this up to a gentlemen I found out was the owner tonight with my terrible final experience at this place, he is just as rude as everyone that works there. That day I waited between the times I asked to be charged since you were just chatting and laughing with the people there I asked nicely 2-3 times since my food was ready, I didn’t see the need to keep me there waiting. I do not use profanity I did not curse, nonetheless I hope people are not being treated like that anymore, I hope that person is not dealing with people directly anymore that was very uncomfortable...
