It's your typical park surrounded by a more urban setting.This park is a great place for families to have a picnic, go for a stroll, or just enjoy the outdoors.

There is a lake with a paved path surrounding it. The park has a play area for children, including a watery area for those hot summer days. Ice cream trucks visit, and there are concessions for food. There are some areas set up for playing different sports.

There are plenty of trees and good shade. There are plenty of benches throughout the park to take a brake and contemplate nature. Some places in the park have a nice view.

The park has been well maintained over the years, with some areas having been updated fairly recently. Oh, and there is no lack of metered parking around the exterior of the park.

I've been coming to this park since I was a child. Plenty of things to do here. There's a basketball court, track field, children's jungle gym, a huge lake, baseball field, and plenty of trees for some fresh air. Typically, summer is the best time to visit the park. There are nature trails for walking and some trails for biking. No bikes are allowed around the lake though and the police enforce this rule. From birds to geese, and squirrels to groundhogs, there are plenty of wild life for anyone to enjoy. During the summer, you will find plenty of open spaces great for throwing a ball around or even sun bathing. They definitely cleaned up this park a lot! They have a monument dedicated to James Braddock and the surrounding area around it has plenty benches and a modern feel to it. It's scenic and peaceful here during the evening. They have soccer fields and baseball as well. For warmer weather there BBQ pits but you need to come early to use those, by the afternoon they're all used up. Currently a large lake that's at the heart of the park is under construction, but when that project is completed it'll add to the peaceful aesthetic.
