I came here today 6/3/2021 with my two nieces. They absolutely loved it, even though it was downpouring and we were the only guests. Everyone gave us their undivided attention, and Al showed us around and introduced us to all of the animals. In the planetarium, we got to be the only three people during a show and it was wonderful! Would definitely make another visit.

The local reptiles and birds were amazing to see, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Took my nieces and nephews there for a fun day out! We went inside and there is all kinds of fun learning things for them to do! They have a fun planetarium, a section for music, building, anatomy, and more. Inside they had a huge mouth were the kids could crawl into and it lead to a stomach they crawled out of, sounds gross but they had fun facts so you can learn along the way! Really a lot to do! My nephews favorite part was the reptile cave were we got to walk underground and look at turtles and snakes. They also had some fishes and some other animals there to look at! I’m pretty sure for a moment they tried to get my to pet a stingray but not for this aunt! They also have a huge playground that’s fun for all ages. And the best part I think was we ended the day with a little train ride which was a blast! Also this train ride was wheelchair accessible, which I thought to be so cool! It’s really a great place for the family to...

My friends,if you love the outdoors, like me,and sincerely understand survival skills;you could easily realize the hardships of survival in the wild. Animals,of course, are extremely well equipped; for their outdoors existence. DNA & vital instincts make up their necessary ,solid decision making process.Especially in times of danger, they are ready for action! Including, every day life's occurring emergencies. This facility will teach you greatly,if you decide to learn & truly observe. The Staff is absolutely fabulous! Answering all your valid questions, when you prefer & request, their attention.(tip) visiting is free, small fee for groups.Plan to stay all day! (tip) If you have a current NC fishing license,do some fishing, nearby & grill by the picnic tables.Have fun in life! Don't forget to...

This is a great inexpensive day trip for your family. Check out some wildlife here at this Nature Center. The salt water touch tank is currently closed due to COVID. Olivier the bird is pretty cool. He likes to say "Happy Birthday". The Health & Science Museum building next door is a neat children's museum. It has different learning areas (miniature Hospital, Fire Truck, Farm to Table area, and much more) making this a great place for field trips. On the same premises is a park with play equipment and swings. Plenty of activities for that perfect day trip. My only con would be that it seems a little outdated and could use...
