Park Circle Playground is truly one of the best playgrounds I’ve ever visited. From the moment you walk in, you can tell how thoughtfully it’s been designed for families and kids of all ages.
The entire playground is fully fenced, which gives parents peace of mind knowing the kids are safe inside. The surface is a soft, cushioned material that makes it safe for running, climbing, and the occasional tumble. There are multiple shaded areas, which are a huge relief on hot days, and plenty of benches and picnic tables for parents and caregivers to relax or enjoy a snack.
The equipment itself is incredible — there’s a wide variety of slides, from small ones perfect for toddlers to tall, twisting tube slides that keep older kids entertained for hours. The obstacle course and climbing towers are a standout feature, challenging kids to balance, climb, and explore while staying active. The swings include traditional swings, toddler bucket swings, and even adaptive swings, so every child can join in the fun.
I also love that the playground is accessible and inclusive. The layout makes it easy to navigate with strollers or wheelchairs, and there are play options for children with different abilities. The bright, modern design and colors make it visually exciting, and the layout ensures there’s always something to explore without the playground ever feeling too crowded.
Parking is convenient, the restrooms are nearby, and the whole space feels well-maintained and clean. It’s obvious that North Charleston invested in creating a place that families will enjoy for years to come.
If you’re anywhere near the area, Park Circle Playground is absolutely worth the stop. It’s not just a playground — it’s a community space that encourages kids to play, move, and make memories while giving parents a comfortable, safe place...

A well-designed inclusive playground welcomes children and adults of all abilities to a play experience where everyone can interact and play together.
All children means everyone. The need for play does not distinguish between children who are typically developing and children with disabilities. Everyone of all abilities needs play. And everyone means not only children with a physical disability requiring an accessible playground, but it also includes developmental disabilities like autism; children with sight or hearing impairment and children with intellectual disabilities such as down syndrome. Everyone also includes siblings, parents, grandparents, friends and...
Read moreWell designed large playground situated in park circle. The big attraction is the fenced play area for younger kids. The play area is covered to keep the South Carolina sun away and the ground is a combination of harder paths and softer rubber ground underneath the actual play area. There is the general smell of rubber in the play area which I hope will dissipate with time as the park ages. There is a baseball field and a community center which was closed when we arrived. Overall it looks like a fun place for kids to burn off some energy and it was being used by lots of kids when we visited. There is also quarteman park nearby that has geese and a couple of swans...
