It's got a pretty pond with two fountains and a sidewalk all the way around it with plenty of geese, ducks, turtles, and crabs. There are a couple of benches, not nearly enough, and two duck/goose feed machines on each end that look like they're from the 1960's and don't work. Don't bother putting your quarters in them! The sidewalk around the pond is full of duck/goose poop so watch your step! It's EVERYWHERE! There are mature trees with ample shade on one side but nowhere to sit except on the grass. Bring folding chairs if you plan on staying more than 10 minutes. The signs say to not feed the birds bread because they could choke to death. Sure would be nice to have them bird feed machines working! There's plenty of parking around the pond. People come out here to walk and jog, too. It sits between a peaceful, old Park Circle neighborhood and Spruill Avenue and Buist Street. No...
Read moreIt may be a duck pond, but it is tidal fed from the saltwater / brackish creeks nearby. I've encountered lots of marsh wild life here. Crabs, shrimp, catfish, alligator gar, heroins, turtles, etc. It appears to currently be mating season for the ducks. Beware of the ducks currently. They are ready to fend off both people and other animals. Many of the ducks are normally approachable but sometimes I think people are mean to them. I say this because some of them are cordial then other times they won't let a human near them. (Same Ducks) So please if you visit be kind. ♥️💯 P.S. you can also feed the turtles here. They will follow you around the pond just like...
Read moreCute Park Circle neighborhood pond and park to take the family and dog for a walk. We love feeding ducks and geese year round. It's always nice to see a new batch of baby geese. Several concrete benches sprinkled through out and under beautiful old oak trees. The pond is a short walk from Park Circle center and businesses off Spruill Avenue. It could be a nice place for a picnic at one of the concrete tables but there are no drinking fountains or restrooms. A small playground and some dredging of the pond (super shallow from years of build up) along with restrooms would make this...
