We found this unique coffee house 4 years ago on our travels. Everytime we visit Charleston, we make a point to hit this place. It has always been something to look forward to. However, this trip we found they moved. There was no place to park. There were two vehicles with our party (there were 10 of us total). We parked at their old location, and I went to into ask the young girl working where we could park. She told me to park across the street. I stood outside trying to see where there was parking for their location across the street. I could not find anything. So two of us stayed with our vehicles at their old location while others went in to order. My kids all tipped like they were taught to do. However, there is a sign (not easily seen when stressed about parking and party being totally split up) that states tips are included, but my kids did not see that sign. You are still asked at the end of the purchase to leave a tip. Talk about stress and confusion. Won't be back as there is not place guaranteed to park after a 4 hour drive and it ended up being...
Read moreProphet Coffee is the real deal, a cafe/roastery that every city in the world should strive for. The vibe in here is immaculate, the service was friendly, the barista was kind, intelligent and gracious enough to talk shop, process and answered all my inane questions (and wore a Cro Mags shirt - hell yeah!). The aesthetic is deliberate - plant based milks only (A+), and it all works so well. It is inspiring to see a small business grow from a van into a coffee shop. We were only in town for three days, and I made my family come in multiple times (twice in one day!). We had all of the specials, and then their new summer specials, and the pulled espresso was top notch. I bought beans to go and will most likely order some online. I wish I didn't live 1000 miles away, because I would spend all of my time and money here. Parking lot is small and fills up fast, so be aware! Lovely spot, will travel...
Read moreI was visiting from Pennsylvania, and have had this coffee shop on my list to visit...the atmosphere truly did not disappoint, it is such a beautifully branded and designed space! What I was disappointed to encounter was that they did not serve any dairy milks...I was not prepared at all for this, and was pretty bummed that I wasn't able to get regular milk with my drink, simply because I do not enjoy the taste of alternative milks. The espresso tasted really delicious however, just shocked that there isn't an option for regular milk. The baristas were so welcoming and my experience was really great, I'd definitely recommend if you drink alternative milks, I'm not sure I would visit again now that I know this...but love the vision, design,...
