I went to this kroger at approximately midnight on a Friday. I came for two things, gasoline and peanuts. I first stopped at the pumping station, nothing was really going on. I get pumping and, a few gallons in, I notice a man running near the pumping station. He's talking loudly but not yelling. I realise what he is saying is, "They can't catch me if I run!" The man repeats this a few times before arriving at his destination, the sidewalk. Walking on the sidewalk are two other men, one has a shopping cart with a few items in it that I didn't make out and the other man is pushing a lawnmower, on the sidewalk, at midnight.
After I finish pumping my gas I drive over to a parking spot. I accidentally parked in the lot closer to the door that is locked from 9PM-7AM so I make the short walk over to the other door. I enter the store and it is quiet. Immediately upon entering, I navigate to the chips aisle. In this aisle lie many nuts, yet it lacks what I desire. I'm not here for just any nut, I want in-shell, salted, baked peanuts. Part of me expected the nuts not to be in the aisle so I made haste toward the produce section. I recalled many other nuts being stored there. As I walked toward the expected home of my savory treat, I passed an employee with headphones in both of his ears, the white headphones that come complimentary with an iPhone. I arrived at my destination and, upon first glance, fell into a gloom. No peanuts in sight. I was not easily deterred however, and simply assumed my eyes to be deceiving. After a bit more time searching over the same nuts, I notice them. The object of my desire, the fuel of my heart that truly sparked my quest to kroger at midnight on a Friday. The peanuts. They lie there, waiting for me. Their brown bag with a clear section to let me gaze upon my prize, right before me. I grab two and continue to the self checkout.
For being so close to closing, a fair amount of people occupied the checkouts. I approach one of only two available scanners and run the barcodes over. Each bag costing merely a single dollar. After paying, I place the nuts, now my property, into a plastic bag, grab my receipt, and walk out the doors. I cross a bit of the parking lot to return to my car, I start it and begin my brief journey home. As I am leaving the lot, I notice another man walking through the lot, this man however, was not running from anyone. He too must have found comfort in his world. I leave the lot and my quest for peanuts is complete.
Overall an enjoyable experience, however I cannot rate five stars. I feel, even though I do not think they're pricey, that the peanuts...
Read moreI bought 1 bag of cherries about a week ago at this location. The cashier over charged me for 2 bags of cherries in the amount of $12.00. She told me to see Tasha at the front desk to which Tasha told they were closed! Keep in mind, this is not the first time this has happened at this location with being overcharged! I wait a few days because I’m a business owner and my time is very limited right now! I go back today and Tasha says they ( the front desk is closed again)! For me it’s the principle of this situation! As much as groceries are these days (Tasha) should handled this without thinking about it for one second! Plus, she could have cared less about my $12.00…. her only concern was getting out of there at quitting time! What has happened to this location? A dear friend of mine Chrystal Cooke was mgr at one time with excellent customer service and never one problem! Now, there is bad service, young kids at every register, people stealing, no bottom rack on carts, the store is dirty, sometimes the food is bad etc! Tasha should be ashamed to not squash this whole situation and given me my money back! It was “$12.00!??!! You took it, give it back! I will never in life shop there again!! Tasha needs to be reprimanded because the customer who’s money was taken is always first! I was never rude but I can’t say...
