The annual Praise dinner in its 25th year was an absolutely amazing time for the first time in a couple of years due to the Covid 19 issues. Rose Wenger Wallmer is the residing president of the organization. And Glenn Wenger is the general manager of Wenger's of Myerstown Pennsylvania. He was the auctioneer for a few of their late father's Carl Wenger items, which included a 3D portrait from local Amish artist by the name of Abner Zook. Who entirely made steel workings painstakingly painted to perfection covered bridge winter time rendition of people ice skating on the creek under it and a two team of horses pulling a wagon full of people and the details that he did are absolutely phenomenal. Let's just say that I run up that bid to $10,000.00 dollars and we're the proud owners of such a talented, wonderful and beautiful 3D metal painting. And as always the dinner was outstanding as well as a two new vocalists, whom did an excellent show with their singing abilities. I also would like to thank all the FFA members for doing such a wonderful job setting up everything for this very important charity. At this point I'm going to shorten this long story and ask if you're a Lebanon County Pennsylvania resident please consider contacting the Wenger Foundation and get involved. Support a table as it will certainly make a huge difference in the community. All proceeds benefit 4 different charities directly here in Lebanon County. The very reason I'm asking is that it could be beneficial for someone you may know, like a neighbor or kids that just need a little guidance, and that's what On fire youth ministries are doing. Even entire families when a...
Read moreHoly cow I can't believe it 35 years later and the BMX track is still in the back and almost is still in the same design as I remember racing BMX bikes back in the 80s some very good times I've had there winning trophies making new friends becoming an expert racer before the age of 13 I had sponsors find out wanting me to sign with them but unfortunately my parents didn't want me to have that kind of childhood driving around and flying all over the United States racing my BMX bike all over the great USA. I often think back of how things would be different if I would have went that way in life with being a sponsored BMX rider and if I would have been able to make it into the Olympics cuz I never expected BMX racing to make it to the Olympic Games but this is part of life and it is always full of what ifs I have no regrets I just have great fond memories of racing there back in the day along with them having the Lebanon Fair at the same time they had the races so you had so many other people from all over the place to come and visit the Great Lebanon Fairgrounds and watch the kids race BMX bikes. I remember winning a trophy for a special event and I came in first place and it came with a huge thing of Lebanon sweet bologna I will never ever forget that and actually I just remembered I have that trophy out on display in my trophy room so here are the pictures of the trophy and check it out it just turned 32 years old. Wow boy does that make me feel really old right now. Anyway I hope you all enjoy and thanks again for the great childhood memories and the memories that I have of bringing my own children to ride on the same track that I...
Read moreI haven't been to the Lebanon Valley expo center for the fair in over thirty years or maybe a little longer but wow how Lebanon has grown in so many ways. No matter if it's good or bad Lebanon came a long way. Lebanon has a lot of history for a small county. Most of the land where the Lebanon Valley expo center is was owned by two different people one of the people I knew of and he has a street named after him. Lebanon was first known as Stietztown and in 1847 it was turned into Lebanon and again there is a lot of history when it comes to Lebanon. I was born in Lebanon Pennsylvania on January 2nd 1964 and for ten decades I've seen so many changes and diversity actually we have 97 different nationalities in Lebanon county so I think it's great because I get to learn about people and their beliefs and lifestyles and traditions are cultures I think that is worth everything to me. Lebanon valley expo center is a memory that puts a smile on my face. We all need to make Lebanon county Pennsylvania a place for our children to learn and understand how beautiful...
