I love this Dog Park! I have a 9 lb Italian Greyhound and she really enjoys the thrill of getting a big space to break into some really gorgeous sprints while playing chase with other dogs!

The 'big dog' and 'small dog' portions of the park have fun items with which the dogs can interact - like tunnels, agility-style structures and even fire hydrants! Both sides have multiple dog stations stocked with waste pick-up bags and trash bins. Each side also has benches, a covered and paved seating area, and a paved walking track that curves around, ultimately forming a loop.

For safety, there are well-made signs stating the park rules and guidelines. The fences around the perimeter of both sides of the park are quite high. Additionally, the entrances to each side of the off-leash areas have a double entry system, with gates that are easy for people to use - even if one has arthritis or some fine motor issues - yet latch securely so a dog cannot simply open it just by pushing on it with its body-weight.

On each side there is one water fountain for humans, and one lower fountain that fills an attached dish, for the dogs. They provide cool fresh water during late spring, summer and early fall, but he city does turn off the fountains for the colder months.

Regardless of the time of year, many dog owners bring large bottles or jugs of water, as well as bowls and other containers to keep their dogs hydrated, and I've never encountered anyone who was stingy about other owners' dogs also drinking the water that he or she brought for his/her own dogs.

In fact, the people this park attracts are one of its best features, in my opinion. I have rarely seen people being rude to, or at odds with each other. I have seen a time or two when a dog gets too stimulated and begins to act in a way that is inappropriate for the situation. In each incident I witnessed the dog's owner intervened, got control of his/her animal and left the park.

Understand that these are my observations and opinions. And I am certain there have been exceptions to what I have experienced. Generally speaking, I have found the dog owners who frequent this dog park to be friendly, helpful, generous, respectful, responsible...

I've been bringing my dogs here for 5 years now. They absolutely love it! The wide open spaces give them plenty of room to run off their energy. Look at the park from the physical geography map & you'll notice that the trails are shaped like a bone/dog head! Fun 😁

❄️ Winter FYI ❄️ The pipes are shut off so bring your own water supply for your dogs from November until March(ish) to prevent the pipes from bursting due to freezing temperatures.

The dog park has 2 sections : large & small dogs. Regardless of the side you go in, you'll find the following amenities: ~waste receptacles with baggies ~paved pathway for humans (and doggos) to walk on ~one shaded bench area ~agility/trick equipment ~water fountain for dogs & humans with bowls ~benches around the track

The large dog side is much bigger than the small dog side, which makes sense for obvious reasons. Please be sure your dog is vaccinated before bringing them to the park ‐ it is in the rules.

The NKC Parks & Rec does a phenomenal job keeping the area clean, safe, and ensuring our doggos are secure. I have LOVED the various events that they put on as fundraisers.

Owners, please be sure your dogs are up to date on their vaccinations before bringing them ❤️ This helps keep everyone's...

I went to this park with my 25 pound dog, and went to the side that only allows dogs 30 pounds or less. The minute I step in, a lady screams at me, telling me to go to the other side where the bigger dogs are. I tell her my dog is under 30 pounds and politely walk away, but soon after, this man approaches me and tells me I need to go to the other side. AGAIN, I tell him my dog is under 30 pounds, and he tells me that my dog is scaring his little rat dog. At this point, my dog was laying in the shade cooling down; no where near is rat dog. I walk away, and he tells me to leave the park. Beyond angered and disgusted at this man and lady, I leave the park.

Would not recommend going to this park if your dog medium sized. There is a bigger than 30 pounds and less than 30 pounds section, so if you have a bigger dog, go ahead and go. But if you’re like me, having a 20-25 pound dog, they will make you leave like...

It's a nice small park. You will always get your rude people who give you unsolicited advice, ones that their dog shouldn't be there, but for the most part, it's a great park. You don't get many of those karens. My French bull dog diva is loving it there. I want to get her more socialized, and it's working great. She has one main play partner that turned into a friendship with one of the dogs owner. I do wish they had more shady areas in the under 30lb side. The park is always clean and well kept up. That's the only complaint I have with the park, which is not enough shade. I would recommend this park to anyone in the area.

Update 6/27/24 Reported this man back in October 2023. Daily smoking man still is at park. When taking pics 6/27/24, he constantly said obscenities with curses at me,and tells me to mind my own "@@**" business. He is cupping his hand to HIDE cigarette while petting another dog. He was at park 06/27/24 at 8:30am - 8:45am. I spoke NO words to this person. When I chose to leave park and wait for him to leave, HE got up from park, put his dog in his car, then came to my vehicle to write down my license plate. Posting update in the event something happens to me as he is verbally threatening.
