I’ve been to many ihops and I don’t even know where to begin with this one.
We waited probably 10 minutes after walking in to be seated, and once we were, we were seated with sticky menus and no silverware.
Our server came over probably 5 minutes to order and said “are you ready to order? Sorry I don’t know how long you’ve been sitting here.” We ordered 2 coffees and asked for a bit longer to look at the menu.
When she came back with coffee we ordered our brunch, including the 2x2x2 that my girlfriend ordered. 2 pancakes, 2 sausage/bacon, 2 eggs. The server asked sausage or bacon and my girlfriend said sausage. The server asked if patties was ok and she said sure if there was no sausage links.
We waited about 20 minutes for the food and when it did finally come out, we still had no silverware, the server had not been over since she had taken our order, and the expo had to bring us the silverware and new coffee since we were out.
I did end up getting sausage links so they weren’t out and my girlfriend got one patty not two. Not a huge deal but still strange.
We did not see our server again until it was time to pay, but I did see her eating at a booth in the middle of the restaurant while we were sitting there with empty drinks and no utensils.
To top everything off when the bill came out we were charged .50 for the sausage patty. When I asked about it she said there was an up charge for the patty since we chose that instead of links. They did take it off the bill but when our order was taken it was phrased as if they were out of sausage links so I wasn’t particularly pleased with how this went down.
I have worked in restaurants for 8 years throughout high school and college, and worked everywhere from casual sit down to fine dining. I have never seen such a blatant disregard for service. At the end the manager came by to take our plates once finished and made a joke about taking my girlfriend’s phone off the table. Incredibly unprofessional and very off putting.
On top of the problems with service the restaurant was very dirty, ceiling tiles sagging and stained with water damage, sticky tables and menus, and dirty floors. I will not be dining at this location again and I highly suggest others to steer clear until corporate is able to get a...
Read moreI came to this IHOP location around 1:30am and they were a bit busy. We were greeted by our server who wore the expression that she didn't care about anything and that's putting it mildly. It's late, you're a bit busy dealing with the late night crowd. I get that aspect of it. The staff could be heard complaining from the dining room. I ordered my usual T-Bone steak and eggs. After just observing the apathetic attitude of my waitress I didn't expect much but i was so hungry and the birthday girl chose to go to IHOP so I was committed. I received the most well done steak i had ever been served. It was extra charred like the cook put a heavy skillet on the steak too cook it faster. All the juice was gone. I was so hungry I didn't care at first until I was about halfway through and my friend began to comment on my steak and it being fully devoid of life. The waitress didn't come back after the food was dropped until I had to get up and go to the door to the kitchen to find her for some refills and some more hollandnaise sauce. Since I had already eaten half the steak, I couldn't rightfully complain but I asked her to tell the cook to not cook it so much. She rolled her eyes and went back to the kitchen. Fast forward to the bill. She charged two of us wrong. Simple mistake switching the drinks. She said someone else rang up her table and that's why it was messed up. She also said she got allot of tables at once so she was very busy. It happens but it didn't seem all that busy to me. She was with another server and lots of staff. So I wasn't buying it. She fixed the birthday girl and my check but the birthday girl's sister was charged an extra $13. Needless to say the mood was set when we walked in the door. After jumping through some hoops and meeting the manager, I think, the checks were resolved and we left. Overall it was a very bad experience and IHOP usually does me right. I won't get this...
Read moreWe were in town visiting for the weekend. On our last night in KC, we decided to get some late night breakfast. We stood at the entrance waiting to be greeted and seated. The waitress finally came over and told us she was having a bad night and we needed to give her patience. There were not that many people in the restaurant. She led us to a table and disappeared. 10 min later we got water. Then she brought over a coffee pot and we were each able to get half a cup from it. There were 2 of us. After another 10-15 min she took our order and didn’t write anything down. She left the table. She then went to the kitchen and proceeded to scream obscenities to the kitchen staff. After her tirade, she turned on some club type music that was very inappropriate for a family friendly restaurant. About 20-30 min later, the cook brought out food. My friend was missing some of her food and he said he was bringing it out. The waitress then appeared a few minutes later and remembered that we had ordered Diet Pepsi. She brought the drinks out as we were eating. She never came back to check on us. Quite a few other people came in and left after not being served. We had no idea where she went so we got out cash to leave on the table. As we were standing up, she appeared and said she’d take care of it. She looked at the $40 in my hand and said “I’ll take it”. We never got a bill and she just disappeared. We left and will never go back to...
