Smoot Park — Attraction in North Wilkesboro

Nice park with a playground area, several small and large covered picnic shelters, and a swimming pool. The playground area has quite a few different things for kids to play on and having all the picnic shelters for birthday parties is good. They also have basketball courts and a skateboard park but I haven't checked those out yet so I can't comment on them. There's also a arcade room outside the pool. The swimming pool is usually packed. That's the only reason I'm giving this park 4 stars is being so crowded, way more crowded than it should be for a small rural town. Parking is terrible on Saturdays especially if there's birthday parties and when you have that many people obviously there's a huge mess left behind. These are pictures of the new restaurant in the older building sharing park area .Right across from main picnic shelter. It was a great fun day with my son and I . we had a great lunch . Then going to restroom, come to find out there is a big nice back room with more dinning tables nice clean new restaurant and bathroom very 👌👍 clean new nice design on the whole place. Then they have an game room. My son and I got play a couple of games of pool. 2 pool tables, Only 50 cents a game. Plus had a jukebox, video games, and a air hockey table. Which we also really enjoyed playing air hockey. So stop in check it out great food and fun . I will always remember my day with my wonderful son . We were in the wilkesboro area eating at Don's seafood and decided to go to Smoot park pool which we had heard about . Went to walmart and bought swim suits and things for the pool because we don't live in this area .When we tried to go through the door a very big rude man screamed at us "I'm at capacity ". Three people had just come out my grandson Was the only one who would actually be in the pool and he was very upset . It was a very bad experience all around .
