A highly rated family food and hamburger joint on the Internet reviewed by many. So here is another one. When you read the story of the origins of 7 brothers burger restaurant, you can't help to be inspired, amazed and touched. We are truly touched by their story. We saw a video review on the Internet and so had to partake and try the food. First impressions of the business and it's location. Unassuming buildings, pay attention to your GPS directions because you may miss the building. We arrived at night so we thought the building holding the bakery was the hamburger restaurant. I asked one of the workers there if they served hamburgers here, they said "no", that is the building to the right side of here. Walked out the door and "bam" huge line even in the rain and this late. I had my wife grab a table indoors and I ordered for us. She ordered sheth's cheeseburger and I ordered the spencer. We also ordered an order of their famous onion rings with their special dipping sauce. I was delivered to us hot off the grill. OMG these were so delicious hamburgers. The reviews on the Internet were correct. The hamburgers were thick and juicy. The taste was undeniably scrumptious. We have stopped and have eaten at many upscale hamburger places in Texas, California and Kansas , 7 brothers tops all and the price is so reasonable when compared to the high end restaurants in the cities I just mentioned. The onion rings were also crispy and huge, but it was their proprietary "secret" dipping sauce that separated these onion rings from all others. Our cashier "Jonah" an affable college student from BYU, was cleaning tables and asked us if we were enjoying our meal. We both replied enthusiastically, these are the best burgers we have ever eaten, and we tried many even at high end restaurants. Jonah gave a thumbs up and said he would tell us some of the secrets. Beef fresh from ranches in Utah. Grass fed, never thawed from frozen beef, just slightly chilled, chopped continually and a seasoning sprinkled and introduced on the beef while cooked and seared. Well if that's their method and ingredients we are sold on it. We finished our food, and told my wife I could eat another one. She said no, we can come back we are here for another week We will return to North shore Hawaii with appetites on the weekend to sample more of their menu, and sample the quieter side of Oahu Island life. Our great respect, to the family of 7 brothers, your standards and commitment to family and life. Also to your great and affable employees you hire. Talofa...
Read moreHORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Despite the amazing reviews for this place, we had the complete opposite experience. 8pm on a Tuesday. Went to order the classic Paniolo Burger and was told they are out of onion rings. Another one of our group tries to order the Shrimp Combo and was informed they are also out of Coconut Shrimp AND rice. So I ask to replace the onion rings with another topping since I’d be paying full price with or without the onion rings, and after adding the extra topping it was still and additional $2. Really? How does that make sense?
After the food was ordered, we were given free drink cups (as a gesture I suppose) and went to the soda fountain only to find DrPepper and RootBeer both are out of order, every other soda was lacking carbonation, AND no ice! Very disappointing.
The live band playing that night was also extremely loud. Great music, but just overwhelming volume for a small restaurant.
It took about 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and this was with the store filled about 3/4 capacity.
The FOOD: The actual food was outstanding! Burgers were very well cooked, seasoned nicely and bursting with flavor. 8/10 for the burgers. Minus the missing onion rings. :( The fries were spectacular as well, super cheesy and nicely sautéed onions. Very well seasoned and hot! 9/10 The garlic shrimp was pretty average, nothing crazy but still tasty. We found out AFTER we ordered that they were out of rice. They didn’t actually tell us, the food just came out with fries instead of rice. 5/10 not impressed
OVERALL Seven Brothers has very good food. It has earned its reputation for a reason. Do not expect good service during busy hours. It was unfortunate the amount of missing menu items during this visit, but nevertheless it was still very displeasing. Overall a good local restaurant...
Read moreThe grilled ahi sandwich was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfectly on both sides, seasoned just right, and paired with a creamy, flavorful sauce that worked beautifully both on the sandwich and as a dip for fries. Speaking of fries, they offer a few varieties--I went with their home fries. They were thick-cut, well-seasoned, and despite a few slightly burnt corners, still really enjoyable.
The real highlight of the visit, though, was the gentleman who took our order. He was incredibly kind and attentive, giving me a heads-up about how the grilled fish would be prepared so there were no surprises. It came out exactly as he described. He greeted us with a big smile, carefully repeated our order to ensure accuracy, and truly felt like the rock star of the experience.
There are some tables and chairs outside, but since it was raining, we moved indoors. The fountain machine is right in front by the cashier--don't miss it like we did!
I also liked the interior design. The walls feature photos of the seven brothers at different ages along with the story of how the business began--it gives the place a really personal and welcoming touch.
All in all, this is a must-try spot if you're in the North...
