These glowing reviews... Came highly recommended by da Ohana...old school word of mouth... I would have eventually found No 7 tho...me thinks... It is after all, one of the highest rates spots in Hale'iwa. Definitely a Food Truck...but more like a permanent spot for it to be parked. There is outdoor eating area right in front of the Truck, with a covered roof to provide you shade from the bristling sun or the rain. These folks know what they are dong... Fast, tasty and efficient... Da Grinds: ~ No. 16 Da Combo: Yuzu Wasabi Poké & Chicken Karaage Don't let that box fool you...It doesn't look like much, but contains a delish, hearty meal with good portions. I was digging the Karaage chicken and all the sauce that decorated it...very flavorful, fried to perfection without being too oily. Poké was tasty too with just the right amount of rice. Now I gotta try the rest of the menu

Unfortunately, my visit to this place was a complete disappointment. The food didn’t even taste as good as something from the supermarket deli counter, and what made it worse: I had to wait a full 45 minutes, even though I was told it would only take 15. In the end, the waiting time nearly tripled. My insider tip: You can get something similar – and even better tasting – from the supermarket for a third of the price. I would strongly advise against wasting your holiday time here, because instead of being honest about the waiting time, they just try to make a quick sale. That really kills the mood and makes you feel unwelcome. Bottom line: If you don’t want to ruin your holiday spirit with frustration, avoid this place.

No 7 Japanese Food Truck was one of the stops on our North Shore food crawl. We stopped by on a Sunday just after 11. We ordered beef sukiyaki, chicken karaage, and spicy miso tonkatsu. All plates come with rice and a side salad. Everything was really good but my favorite was probably the tonkatsu. It's weird because I don't normally like pork cutlets since they tend to be dry, but not here. It was fried to perfection, and the combination of spicy miso and katsu sauce went really well together. There are a few picnic tables by the food truck area, but you will be competing for your food with all the flies. Next time, I think I would probably just order to go, but I'll definitely be back for more tonkatsu.

SERVICE: Ouch. The Asian man preparing the food was very kind but the woman (who seemed to be manager) was quite rude when we were a little confused by how some things were labeled in the digital ordering system and wanted to double check that what we received matched what we ordered. I don't mind being corrected but she acted as if we were malicious, which seemed quite unreasonable. Despite us ordering on a tablet, seating ourselves, cleaning after ourselves, etc, she semed to expect a high tip from visitors. It was very surprising to be pushed to select one of several high tip options (20, 25, 30, 35%) immediately after ordering our food (once again, on a tablet), before any human interaction, much less any service. 0.1/5. Would be a 0/5 if not for the man. ENVIRONMENT: Tables were a little dirty but fine. Enjoyed the presence of the chickens although some other families seemed rather annoyed. Overall, 4/5 vibe. FOOD: Quality was fine, although some of the family ended up with nausea/diarrhea later. Can't be certain it was from this food truck since, because of the quantity, we ended up ordering from neighboring food trucks...

Arrived for dinner at 7pm and was told that they were out of rice. Since they were going to close in an hour (8pm), they would not cook additional rice which was a bit annoying but understandable I guess. What made it worse was that even though I was willing to substitute my rice with salad in my poke bowl, they said I would still need to pay $2 extra because the salad "'cost them more".

Not wanting to overpay for a poke bowl without rice, I ordered the miso ramen. Instead of coming in a bowl, it came in a tall cup similar in shape to Cup Noodles. This made it difficult to spoon out soup with the noodles and I couldn't even tell what was in the ramen due to it all being piled up in the cup.

Giving this place 2 stars because the ramen itself wasn't bad and there was a good...
