Sea turtles! We saw sea turtles in the summer, and swam near them! Some people were snorkeling, but it's a little rougher swimming here. Not too bad, though- there is a few feet drop off quickly after you get in the water. People had tube floats and boogie boards. There was a lifeguard station there, and warnings about rough water but if you're not to deep, some waves will knock you down, but it was fairly calm when we went. It is a bit of a workout to balance on the edge of the soft sand, but worth it to see the sea turtles. (If you want calm water, there is a cove little North of here with shallow water, which also has turtles and is great for snorkeling.) Read moreNorth Shore has plenty of great beaches, but this one is my favorite. It usually isn’t overcrowded, and unlike Laniakea or Waimea Bay, you don’t have to fight through the traffic just to get there. Plus, it’s close to Haleiwa town, which makes it super convenient. The water visibility was surprisingly good, and sea turtles show up often. One time I even saw 4–5 rays gliding right at the shoreline—it was absolutely stunning. 🌊🐢✨ Considering the wind and the sun’s position, mornings are the best time to visit. You’ll have an easier time setting up your umbrella and just enjoying the beach without a battle against...
