Hele Fitness — Attraction in Oʻahu

Our family was introduced to Hele Fitness by our realtor who had purchased a rig for his home gym and had high praise regarding the quality of his equipment. We started following the Hele Fitness brand on IG and attended some of their community outreach events including a friendly, competitive "Inner Strength Tour". This was a lifting/cardio event fundraiser where the proceeds were donated to a local non-profit which directly helps the community. After the event, the equipment used during the event was available for purchase with a pre-order before the event. It was an easy process to place my order and after the event, their pick up process was efficient so I was able to quickly pick up my change plates from a Hele Fitness rep. This past memorial day weekend, they had shirts for pre-order that were highlighting the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) and 10% of profits were donated to WWP on shirt sales. My mom and I ordered shirts for pre-order and I got a call from Justinn, the warehouse manager, that our order was ready for pick-up and  I drove to the warehouse. The warehouse was easy to locate in Kaneohe and they were having a BBQ event and sale when I picked them up. The shirts were sooo cozy soft! The quality of all their products stand out, even to the shirt material they use. We had closed on a home this year and moved in the same week as Memorial Day weekend. Our incredibly thoughtful realtor surprised us with the most incredible Hele Fitness themed accessories and kettlebells to celebrate our homecoming. When we went to the warehouse to pick up our shirts, we ran into Marcus, one of the owners, and he explained Derek came down there to discuss the best gifts for us. My favorite gift was the tactical backpacks which were like military grade, water resistant material. I can throw a pair of nobulls and lifting shoes plus a change of clothes, towel, protein shake bottle, hair ties, etc. We have family in Washington so the water resistant feature will come in handy. Adjustable straps make it easy to fit my husband, (6'1) or myself (5'2). All their gear is quality at wholesale price which is rare for fitness equipment on the island since quality equipment shipped from the mainland has a high shipping price tag. "Long but honest review" Hele fitness is the go to for commercial quality gym equipment for your home or business needs. I came across their products while searching for used equipment on Facebook which is typically a better deal than new, but we all know how that goes and the headaches that come with it. Hele fitness took the work out of searching and worry of getting something subpar. Coming from the mainland I had never heard of Hele fitness before and I'll be completely honest when I say that I was pleasantly surprised by their prices and quality as this is not my first time buying gym equipment. This is not your big box store quality beginner setup. I drove over 40 mins just to check out the equipment because I was unsure and skeptical about purchasing on the spot. Justinn the warehouse manager was extremely communicative, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. Even though I didn't purchase anything on my first visit, he allowed me to try any display product and answered all of my questions. Never once did he try to upsell or convince me to purchase items I didn't need or wasn't interested in. After I left with only a requested invoice and no purchase, he followed up with a text regarding my visit the same evening. Once I decided to pull the trigger he was very accommodating with my schedule and agreed to meet me during non business hours to decide on what I wanted. Again he answered more of my questions and never rushed the process. Justinn loaded the equipment pretty much by himself and only accepted my assistance because I insisted on helping. He was very fair on pricing and even showed a little x-mas spirit as well. Justinn is the man when it comes to customer service. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone else on the island from my experience so far as helpful as Justinn in any aspect. I won't be putting the equipment together until after x-mas since its a gift for my son, but I will follow up with another review and pics. After over a year of working out at home, I FINALLY decided to upgrade my home gym with some real equipment. Hele is paving the way for making quality gym equipment accessible to Hawaii and not only their products, but their customer service is incredible. Justinn Harris (warehouse manager) has helped me a lot through the process from purchase to pick up. I had my equipment for about 2 weeks. Last week I noticed a small crack on one of my 25lb colored bumper plates and brought it to Justinn’s and Hele’s attention. They heard what happened and sent me a replacement (I live on the BI) and it was in my hand in no more than 2 DAYS (obviously it took one day for it to ship so even better, right?) This experience does not change my opinion on the quality I view their equipment having which is top notch. Bumper plates are made to take beatings, you would know by watching videos of hundreds of people using and dropping them repeatedly and them staying intact. I only have 1/2 inch foam mats at home which isn’t ideal for deadlifts (the crack likely wasn’t even from the deadlifts, I believe it was always there and I just didn’t know because I used that 25lb plate and dropped it from barely a foot ONCE before realizing the crack, and even my mats would be able to absorb that shock), and I just ordered 3/4 inch thick rubber mats off Amazon to ENSURE even BETTER protection so I can drop at will (within reason of course)! Overall, Justinn, his assistant Paul who sent me the plate (he even suffered a flat tire and went out of his way to let me know yet he still got it out by when he said he would) and the Hele team are truly the best in Hawaii for your gym equipment needs and you’re supporting local at the same time.
