We walked by this place and saw that it had gluten free options so it looked promising. It smelled good so we thought we would check it out. There were only two employees. The chef and the girl at the register. The girl at the register looked perturbed when I told her I had never been here and asked for her recommendation. We placed our order and moved over to wait. The chef dropped the spatula on the floor and looked around to see if anyone looked then continued to make more crepes. My husband spoke up and asked him to wash it. He said that the stove is hot so there wouldn't be germs. We persisted and then he finally washed it but not before making several more crepes. We were standing near where he was making the crepes and then he says that there are too many people in the restaurant and asks us to step out. My husband asks if we could wait in the other corner and he says that's fine. He didn't want us watching him cook the food. He finished making the other two groups food and then heads to the back and doesn't come out again. Another girl appears and starts to make another person's order. I finally ask how much longer it would be for my food. At this point I've been waiting 30 minutes. She was sweet. Once we grab our food, she motions to the chef in the back so he can come our now. Overall 0/10 on the customer service. Do not...

We stopped for lunch at Ganesh Dosa after a chocolate tasting at the next door Manoa Chocolate factory and tasting room, service was friendly and fast, we got a classic dosa and a classic with mozzarella, with both chutneys, the both come with rasam (vegetable broth) , and we got a hibiscus tea and iced chai. All of the food was very good, as someone who eats quite a bit of South Indian food the flavors were spot on! Beacause they don’t use ghee in the masala potatoes they’re lighter, I like that they use less onion as well. Potatoes were well spiced and the Rasam was also lighter and less acidic because it had less tomato. The chutneys were good but could have been a bit spicier. Hibiscus tea was delicious and the iced chai was spicy, creamy, and really well done.

All of their dishes are vegetarian, and almost all can be made vegan, there were many standard offerings and inventive twists to try.

The interior is clean but a bit sparse, with a couple tables and bar seating, they also have some picnic tables outside but it was sweltering and steamy the day we stopped in.

Would definitely go back, wish they had a location...

One of my favorite foods is Indian and this place makes an excellent Dosa. As my mother equally appreciates Indian food as well, we made it a lunch date.

We both went traditional with their Classic. It is a vegan meal that is very satisfying. Everything is made to order, so it comes out hot and fresh. Filled with potato malasa, it seems sort of basic, but has great flavors from the spiced potatoes and the dosa's sort of mild sour dough taste. I recommend getting a chutney to go with it just to add a bit more contrast to the flavors. It also comes with a cup of Sambar soup, so it makes for a complete meal. Only thing I would suggest is to make the potato masala a bit more spicier or offer a hotter option.

They do offer other dosa fillings that are more Western and even some that are desserts, so if you like crepes, you will really like these and maybe even better. It's not a large menu, but enough to find something to appeal to your taste buds. All dishes offered are either vegan or vegetarian, so for those that are health nuts would...

Ganesh Dosa is a hidden gem for dosa lovers! The dosas here are absolutely delicious—crispy, golden, and perfectly cooked every time. The variety of fillings they offer is impressive, from the classic masala to more unique options that are equally flavorful. The chutneys and sambar served alongside are fresh and packed with authentic South Indian flavors, making every bite a treat. The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Don’t miss out on their ginger lime drink—it’s a refreshing 10/10! And if you’re a coffee lover, the Madras filter coffee is a must-try; it’s simply yummy. Ganesh Dosa is located inside Kailua Square on the first floor, towards the backside. The ambiance is casual and welcoming, perfect for a quick meal or a leisurely lunch with friends. The service is efficient, and the prices are slightly on the expensive side for the dosa but worth it considering the quality and quantity of food you get. If you’re craving South Indian food, Ganesh Dosa is the place to go.

I have been meaning to try this place for a while. The menu sounds excellent and it is minutes from home. I tried the California and did takeout. I put it in the car and quickly an awful smell became apparent - like burning newspaper. I got hope hopeful still, but what had happened was that their cooking fat was clearly seriously burnt. The crepe was unedible. Pressing on though, scraped out the ingredients and they impressed me. They use hot serranos, the avocado was nicely ripe, and the tomatoes fresh and tasty. It is seriously sad about the crepe and I hope I can get that smell out of my car. Every restaurant has its bad days, and I hope that today was totally not representative - I have heard good things about them. I rarely write a negative review on one visit, but this was just so bad... I think, though, that there is promise under todays bad, so I will go back again soon (their menu really does sound good, and what I could salvage was promising) and see if they do better next time.
