This is my third time here...
Covid precautions: Every table was full no masks even those who were done eating. Musicians playing and singing. Bartender doing their thing. It honestly felt like pre-covid in there (which may be a plus for some people but not me) The only precaution was staff wearing masks. I’m happy I ordered online because I was uncomfortable.
Online ordering: ordered a “10 inch” burrito, chips and guacamole for pick up at 6:45. Showed up at 6:35 and my burrito was already sitting on a ledge waiting. You get charged nearly $2 for ordering online. Should’ve just called and ordered over the phone.
Food: if I would’ve showed up at 645 instead of 635 my burrito would’ve been even colder than it already was and the guac would’ve been even warmer. I took a bite into cooked lettuce, a sprinkle of Luke warm carne asada and a TON of Luke warm rice. That burrito must’ve been made at 615 and sat out the entire time. I’d rather wait a minute than have my order be cold.
I paid $15 for a Luke warm, small, rice burrito with a sprinkle of carne asada. Ridiculously overpriced.
The guacamole is super citrusy?
I really want to support my local Kailua restaurants but I’ll be going back to Maui Tacos or honestly just Taco Bell would be...
Read moreJust went tonight, and the whole experience was terrible. I told the guy black beans and rice and the music was so loud I said it three times. He still looked confused so I was looking back up at the sign like, they have this here right? When I ask if they can do beans and rice or if I have to pick one, because maybe thats the reason he seems confused and hasn't put beans on my burrito he replys all condescending like I am wrong for asking. Then he finally gets that right and gives me the wrong type of pork, but it's fine because I was debating which one to get anyway so I don't say anything. Then I notice that everyone else is wearing gloves but he isn't. I brush it off like maybe he cleaned his hands. Then I ask for everything except jalapenos and he gives me jalapenos. I didn't see that and say, can I get the jalapenos on the side instead and he says, "I already put them in" and keeps making the burrito?? I just say okay, and then as I get my burrito he gets in trouble for not wearing gloves, but they still give me burrito?? I had to throw it away because I have issues with germs. Overall the burritos both the person I came with and myself got were extremely small and not worth the price. I didn't eat mine so I can't...
Read moreHow this place got such great reviews is very surprising. I'm from LA and apparently people from this side of the country don't know much about good or even just decent Mexican Food. First off... They cooked the meat in crock pots!!! That's No Bueno! The Salas were just puréed tomatoes didn't even have any taste of onions, garlic y cilantro and lack salt... also No Bueno. The Carnitas cost Extra!! WTF?!?! why is that? Pork is abundant in HI and readily available at a cheap price!! Maybe they can't cook Carnitas in a crock pot?!? ... also No Bueno! The place was more humid that the outside temperature. I was sweating like a pig (no pun intended) I wish for Kailuans to have a better Mexican food offered to them. Come to the LBC and we'll take you más restaurantes buenos. Aloha &...
