While Regal Kapolei might have better quality screens and sound system, Regal Pearl Highlands is still good. IMO it's better than Regal Dole Cannery. If you watch movies often, I recommend paying for the Regal Unlimited Plus for $25 a month. You can watch any movie as many times as you want. Just watching 1-2 movies a month already pays for itself. Also they have the Snack Saver program where you pay $40 and for the rest of the year, Large Popcorn and Large Soda is 50% off. I recommend buying this in January.
The workers here are polite and know how to be patient, especially with the elderly and difficult entitled customers. I recommend watching a movie on weekday afternoon and evening when there's less people and almost no kids.
Only bad experience I had here was when watching KPOP Demon Hunters and some kid was standing constantly throughout the movie RECORDING the movie and also playing a youtube video loudly. Despite telling the kid to knock it off and the parent apologizing, the kid was still acting up. I walked out, told a staff member, and watched the next showing of KPOP Demon Hunters. Thankfully at this showing, the kids were more considerate of the people around them. Other than that,...
Read moreThis movie theater is not very nice. Yes, they have reclining seats now which is the nicest thing about the theater. The popcorn I had bought tasted old and stale. Which was such a bummer because popcorn is one of my favorite parts of the movies! We went to see Jumanji when it first came out and during our movie the fire alarm kept constantly going off. At first we were about to exit the theater but another person in the theater said it was a false alarm. So we proceeded to watch the movie and it continued to go on and off throughout the rest of the movie. The people in front of us stood up and said "this is incredibly unsafe we are leaving" and after they said that it hit me that wow, this is incredibly unsafe! How would we know if there was a real fire or not if their alarm system isn't working? Also, no employees came into the theater and addressed the problem to let us know that it was in fact a glitch and it was a false alarm. It took a random person trying to watch their movie to go out and ask what was going on for anyone to get any answers. This reminded me why we travel to the west side to go to Olino Theaters. It is way nicer! We won't be returning to...
Read moreMy wife and are loyal Regal customers and we both have annual Regal Movies passes. However, the Regal Pearl Highlands movie complex appears to be running on hard times. The reclining seats are very nice but the seat covering is peeling and itchy (we take a beach towel as a seat cover). Auditorium #9 has an air conditioner unit that sounds like a jet engine and is louder than the movie sound (seats B5&6). Regal is always under staffed many times we have to wait in line to the concession stand to have our tickets scanned to enter the theater. We recently changed up from popcorn to hotdogs for or snack. The clerk grabbed 2 from an aluminum foil wrapped stack. The hotdogs were so old the bread had contracted to a cold layer of dried bread, I think it would have been fresher and better to have eaten the aluminum foil. Is there such a thing as a "Ghetto" movie house? After over 10 years of being a loyal customer we are rethinking our continued use of this...
