Difficult parking.
As with all exchanges, tax free. Provide your own bags and get a $0.05 discount per bag.
Better than the Navy Exchange in that they will email you your receipt, handy if you need to save it for tax purposes or to return an item.
There is an Exchange app, however I have not found it to be at all useful here.
This Exchange will price match without too much difficulty, provided you can show them pictures of what you want to price match. I have not had much success with price matches solely verbally, under $5. Best to just have a picture.
If you'd like to match the Navy Exchange sales flyer, bring a copy of it. Chances are they will match it, however I have had some difficulty when the picture is not the exact item, or is a representation of an item. If the sale calls for Suave body wash, and the picture shown in the sales flyer is one scent (as many sales flyers/circulars will just show a representation like this, but the entire type of that particular body wash is on sale) the item you're purchasing has to be that EXACT SCENT, not just that type--even if both scents are the exact same price, size, brand, and type. Doesn't make much sense, but that's the way they're operating here.
Reasonable hours.
Unfriendly sales staff for the most part.
Bathroom in the far back of the store, next to customer service. Bathrooms also available in the main Mall, next to the food court.
Customer returns are hit or miss. Like the Navy Exchange, you can sometimes have the misfortune of meeting a very unhappy employee, who makes your life difficult. Other times, it'll be wonderful. I always have to take a deep breath before walking into customer service. Take a number as soon as you arrive there. Even if there is absolutely no one else waiting for customer service, if you don't have a number, sometimes they will completely ignore you.
Three stars for the convenience, if you are stationed at Schofield. Not having to drive back from town all the way out to Schofield actually is worth about two stars.
Deeply regrettable, as any proceeds from items bought here go to support Army families. However, customer service is consistently so poor here, that many Army families will shop at a Navy Exchange, sending all that money to support Navy families instead of our own. Sometimes, I will purchase here just to try to put some money back into Army coffers instead of just giving it all to the Navy. It is the biggest ARMY Exchange on island.
With that in mind, 3 stars....
Read moreFun little story that I will never forget. The Px was my last stop for the night. My kids and I were exhausted after a busy commissary day and needing two more things from the Px, we stopped by to grab the necessary items. I was trying to get home to make dinner, as it was getting late. I made a detour towards the shoes as I was looking for new trail runners eventually. I just wanted to see how these felt exactly. After, I went on my way to grab the rest of the items. Afterwards, my kids and I rushed to the register to check out and then to the car. When at the car, I noticed my cell phone was missing. We run back in and go to customer service. Noone has seen it. We retrace our steps several times, no phone. I check my car, purse, stroller, and diaper bag thoroughly. We end up getting food at the Px because its 6 30 by this point. We get the groceries home, scarf down our food and come back. Customer service still hasn't seen it. We go home and I call in the morning only to be told the same thing. After my toddlers nap, we walk to the Px and go straight to Customer service. I go straight up to Cristal as she knows my current situation by helping me the night before. She still hasn't seen it and finds it odd. She then calls someone, who looked to be the main boss to look if it was in the back. It wasn't. She then called the manager, Jenn to help start the investigation. I tell her my story and she contacts Michelle in LP, immediately. We retraced our steps. We ask Kat from the phone kiosk who helps me just in case in was stolen. Michelle, Jenn, and Cristal dropped everything they did for a couple of hours to help me find my phone. After a thorough investigation, looking on the camera footage from the night before, and on the verge of finding a new phone just in case, they saw that my mom brain got the best of me an I accidentally put it in a shoe box, thinking it was a shoe. Someone found it and turned it into the closest kiosk. This service was more than the phone itself, it was about the kind hearted people behind it. They didn't have to drop everything to help me, but they did. I want to personally thank from the bottom of my heart, Michelle, Jenn, and Cristal for everything. You ladies are beyond amazing!! And I am forever grateful for you guys!! Also, I want to thank Kat for helping me just in case it was stolen. She went out of her way to walk my husband, who is out in the field, to help me through this situation. You ladies...
Read moreI wanted to point out Sam Brown's review/pictures ("local guide") are not related AT all in regards to the exchange. He wrote a random generic review. The pictures he posted were of Kapolei Target. I go to Target so often (my favorite shopping place) that I know where all items are in general. Could probably work there to be honest. But, yeah the exchange does not look that nice or have too many things. The NEX (in Pearl City) has more variety.
But I also wanted to leave a review because I've been trying to call and see if they had a couple of items in store. Been on the phone for about 10 minutes (5 minutes at a time) trying to reach customer service. They usually answer their calls promptly but, they have been rerouting my call back to the pre-recorded message. Which I could probably recite. "Aloha, you have reached the Schofield main if you know your party's three digit extension please enter it now. Or for customer service press 1". And then it goes on to tell you what number to press for power zone, clothing, jewelry, etc. I thought it was maybe a glitch but nope they just don't want to answer. I haven't had top notch customer service but I wouldn't also necessarily say it's bad. Can be annoying though. They have the basic necessities you...
