What a cool mini golf course! I love mini golf and always try to find a place to play no matter where I am. When I saw the pictures online of Tropics Mini Golf, I knew I had to visit. We were here while on vacation in January. We went on a Thursday in the afternoon and it wasn’t too busy which was nice. The course is so beautiful and very nicely designed. I love how the turf is a different color every other hole. The turf color goes back and forth from green to sandy brown. It was very cool as it helped visually differentiate the holes as you play along. I also loved all the beautiful tropical plants all throughout the course. Such a visually stimulating experience. It was an 18 hole course and I would say it’s challenging but not too challenging. I think people of all ages can have fun playing here. Also, on some holes they had these spinners so you could up the challenge on a particular hole. I thought that was a nice touch and added to the fun! There were also roosters and chickens free roaming the course. They were so cute! I was surprised to see they even had a nice koi pond on sight as well. When you first walk into this place you’ll see a lot of ample seating (picnic tables with umbrellas). The whole place is outdoors but the weather is so nice I didn’t mind at all. They also have a lot of trees and plants that keep the place in the shade for the most part. I think this location would be great for a birthday party. There’s one bathroom on site and it was nicely maintained. Lastly, the staff here are very nice and they even offer food and shaved ice you can buy. So you can easily have a fun afternoon here with family and friends. I would definitely play a round of mini...
Read moreBought the family pass...1 year from date of purchase up to 6 people to golf for $104 and some change. You go 3 times with that many people in 1 year, the pass pays for itself. My baby loves miniture golf and this way I can take him as many times as he wants. The place kinda falling a part...small kine. They could make um a lot more exciting by adding things like you see in the movies when the actors go on mini golf dates, but for the price and the life long memories you build together...I guess no matter. Otherwise, good place to take the kids on a budget family outing to work on your mini golf swing and laugh your okole off while the family challenges each other in trying to get the ball in the hole. Down side is that they just implemented a rule that you can't schedule more than one online tee-time at the same time. You can schedule one, then you play that reservation. When you pau, then you can schedule again, if the time is available. Kinda junk cause we scheduled for 3 games yesterday and they cancelled the last 2, but that's okay...we did something else after the first game cuz was so hot over there during lunch time. Best tip, although it's shaded and get light breeze, because your moving and having fun, it can get warm/hot, so dress cool if you schedule during the day...otherwise go evening like 6 or 7pm. It's much cooler...
Read moreTropics (it's most recent name change) has been around for ages, but it's absolutely a gem tucked away. Nestled between the hustle and bustle of Aiea shopping center and Pearlridge mall it is a great place to kick back to simpler times. Most of us grew up with some type of mini golf place nearby, Tropics is that downhome place, and will hopefully be around for a long time to come. Come with a good appetite, the food is good (see photo - concession stand food) ballpark style grinds. They even have Nathan's hot dogs! Yummo! If you're needing to cool off, grab a shave ice. Generous servings, with your choice of up to 3 flavors. The freezer is stocked full of other frozen treats if shave ice isn't your thing. Plenty of options to choose from, & the staff is always friendly here. I look forward to coming...
