01/4/2024: We have been coming to Home Depot here since moving here 2 yeats ago and have found the store has friendly, helpful, knowledgable staffs in each department. Store is very nice, easily organized to find what you need. My wife bought me a garage door opener for the holidays and tried to find a local contractor but found either no call backs to calls or requests on their web sites. Finally went to Home depot to get a referral to a contractor for install, was told to go to door area ask for Peter. Met him a very friendly, knowledgable employee, gave me the price to have installed by a contractor, was very surprised the cost was very reasonable, so he sat it up on his computer, paid him left awaiting for contractor to schedule presently. Need good information, knowledge on materials or equipment make a stop at this Home Depot, excellent stor to do business with.
Nice store great friendly employees, tons of stuff to look at with a great tool selections all neat lined out too find what you need Huge garden area, lighting and stuff you would not have though would be there. Met the nicest young lady at Customer Service, her name is Ava, she out shined about all store employee we ever meet since moving to Ofallon, she Sisted us with some return items, then help a non smart man set up my military account. She was very polite, very helpful and and smiled a lot, something very lacking today. It really was out pleasure to deal with her and hoped her traits would spread to all Home Depot employees. You all need to hold on to her and utilize her talents throughout your store. Again, thank you Ava for your help.
6/19: purchased over 3k in appliances, scheduled install biggest mistake we could've made. Basically did a dump and run left dishwasher setting in middle of our kitchen, account of a loose Cap on the shut off valve. I tightened the cap, no leak , also couldn't get old mounting screw head stripped took vice grips removed the screw, but not happy. Installed microwave loaded up and gone. Now they claim they will be back Monday so new dishwasher sitting in middle of kitchen, waiting to be installed because the delivery guys tried to say valve was leaking but couldn't account I had shut off the water. Really poor service on the contract company.
7/10/23: Went to the store Sunday, Today and was not able to get th veterans discount, understand its not a make or break but if Home Depot isn't going to honor their pledge why advertise. The app would not load kept sending you around in a circle on the app. Young man said it hasn't been working well for a while but with ID he entered it manual but today the gentleman said same thing but said he was not allowed to manually enter it....
Read moreOrdered a storm door. Had it setup for install. Installer doesn’t show up with the door on installation day. He says “I have to go to the store and get it, I’ll be back in an hr”. After waiting over 2.5 hrs we call the store. The store tells us the installer cancelled the installation and he called and told us that… he didn’t. The store says “we can cancel the whole order or reschedule the install”. There was no offer of compensation for our time and money being wasted. The store admitted they didn’t get the door to him and wouldn’t release the door to him as well. (This was after the fiasco of ordering the door where we were told we could pay for the door over the phone, that was messed up and had to go to the store on a lunch break & pay it). No one seemed to care. Just like oh well, we already have your money so we don’t care. Home Depot needs to learn to own up to their mistakes and not make the customer feel like they are the ones who have to pay for their mistakes. After asking for installation compensation because the door was not installed when we paid and agreed to it, after much hesitation, the store finally said they would compensate that. They first offered $76 of the over $600 we paid for the door and installation. It’s not like these doors are cheap. Asked to speak to a manager multiple times and the employee always ignored that and kept talking. Asked her if she was the manager. And she never answered. She clearly wasn’t because she had to put us on hold and ask someone else permission for everything. We will travel further to not use Home Depot again. (They also sold our Christmas tree we prepaid for/ordered a year ago. When we went to pick it up, they had sold it to someone else and the tree was no longer in stock, with no shipments planned before Christmas. Again we had to talk to corporate to get that straightened out because the store’s (wentzville MO on this occasion) answer was to refund and “better pick out a different Christmas tree”). Customer service is completely lacking. We pretty much expect things to not go smoothly if we plan on ordering something...
Read moreNow I don’t want to be a Negative Nancy, or a “Karen” as my son says, but today was such a cluster I am still frustrated! I understand Covid has companies and people taking precautions such as having one entrance and one exit or encouraging online orders. However this should NOT be negatively affecting those shopping in store. There were so many online orders taking up all the lumber carts I had to search the entire store and outside to find one. Then, when I went to check out there was no room to stand in line as I had 10’ drywall so thankfully my helper was able to stand in my place so we could even check out. This is where the “fun” began. We had to bob and weave through the front entrance, nearly breaking a store printer, almost running over another customer, and successfully blocking the store entrance for almost 5 minutes without anyone offering assistance. The employees only served to fuel my frustration as they seemed to only find the experience funny without offering to help. There were at least 3 others behind us that would be experiencing a similar issue as they too had lumber carts and were unable to even stand in line to checkout. I don’t understand why it seems to be such an unrealistic expectation that those using lumber carts, with items extending beyond the cart, are unable to use the perfectly good lumber exit. You are currently counting out customers using both the normal exit and the garden center, so why cant these individuals struggling to even navigate the store safely have a useful exit?? Also, what do you plan to do when it rains? Do you wish for all these lumber or drywall pieces to come right back into the store as a return because you refused to open the doors to the portico?? I understand things are interesting at this time to say the least but you are only serving to frustrate your customers and make it more difficult within the checkout lines, which means this is making a difficult situation more strenuous on your employees. Please consider this as you move forward. Thanks, An...
