That Burger Joint — Restaurant in O’Fallon

Update to original review. Owner replied as seen below. But I did not contact them back. Instead I decided to give them another chance without any pretense to be fair. Everyone I interacted with was polite and helpful. They were not all that busy so the order was ready quickly. I brought my order home and started with the fries. If you like soft fries like I do then this is a place for you. The fries, while tasty, were a bit salty for my tastes. I had a double cheeseburger with everything on it. It was ok. Nothing to write home about. Overall I would say that the amount of value for the money isn't there. I have changed my original score of 1 star to 3 stars. Below is my original review.

Can't comment on the food or the service because I refuse to go to this place. They have a carry-out option when you order online. However, they use the Postmates platform even for the carry-out option. That means that you get charged extra for whatever you order for placing a carry-out order online. Dump the Postmates platform for carry-out. Don't make your customers pay for your decision to use a delivery service's site. Or at the very least be upfront about the...

I went here on Thursday (7/24/25) for the first time. The food wasn't bad, it wasn't anything special (kind of greasy), but if that were the only thing about my experience I wouldn't be leaving a review. There was a couple in front of me and my girlfriend and when they were finished ordering and moved to the side I stepped up to the counter to order and the young man who was the cashier had to scratch his crotch and sniff his fingers before he could take my order. As a guy I can let a simple scratch or adjustment go unnoticed because I understand, but this young man was scratching vigorously on his groin as if he had fleas. I made sure to watch him and make sure he wasn't making my food or I would have demanded a refund and left. Luckily he was just working the cash register, but after this experience I don't believe I'll be back. The food wasn't good enough to deal with disgusting employees.

I walked into the Oberweis store and you can order from 3 restaurants inside at one counter 1)Oberweis Ice Cream Dairy & Store 2)Woodgrain Pizza 3)That Burger Joint. I did a takeout order The food was hot and flavorful and quickly made. I ordered 2 double bacon cheddar burgers for the wife and I with our favorite condiments along with 2 loaded fries which include green onions, bacon, sharp cheddar cheese sauce. Next time I'll get only one order and split it the serving container size was freakin huge you could've made a meal with just the loaded fries and and a tasty beverage or shake. We get Oberweis Dairy delivered every Monday so if they are out of something you can pick up most items in the store.
