
If I could give negative 5 stars I would. I came in on Tues May1st with my girlfriend she had her eyelashes done while I had a mani pedi. Johnny did my nails and toes. He had an attitude. Doesn't matter... I'm happy and usually rub off on people. š He didn't offer me anything to drink..which I thought was weird. It's the Manhattan bar? No, water and it was a hot day. So, I notice he is really not caring about the detail in my pedi. I am critiquing him about the job. He gets offended. I explain to him how I'd like my pedi. When we discuss color I gave him 3 colors. He said WHY SO MANY COLORS? I wanted just 3 colors. I explained I only wanted 3 colors in my fingers. 1 color in my toes. He wanted to charge me. Even tho I explained the receptionist said I could have a different color on each nail if I wanted...there would be no extra charge. Long story short. My polish was really thick and not as smooth as it should've been. I did not have time to stay so it could be fixed properly I was going out of town and had another appointment I was late for because I was in the shop almost 2hrs for a mani pedi ā¹ļø. The polish started coming off the VERY NEXT DAY. My friends eyelashes where coming off and stuck to each other. I had to pull eye lashes apart so she could open her eye. I called and was told they would take car of it even tho it was against there rules. But since we where out of town they'd fix it. When we arrived they acted as tho I never called them. I explained the situation and my girlfriend was sent to the back after they said they would fix it. 5m later she is walking to the front saying her eyes are burning and they are charging her that out the eyelashes on. The lady said her eye was burning because she kept blinking. This is her job. I'm sure everyone she encounters blinks? She leaves never to return. I literally had to grab a nail tech to ask could she help me. Because the front counter lady kept saying she didn't know anything. The nail tech not only applied the nail polish MUCH smoother than the nail tech I had in the original mani pedi but it was detailed. I gave her a yup just for helping me out. I will NEVER return here. I work HARD for my money the neon yellow and white nails are the first mani set by Johnny. The other set of neon nails is by the nail tech I just grabbed. The red set is a set I did and the pink set is also a set I did. I had to show them this because they tried to tell me it was chipping because it wasn't dip powder or gel polish. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been using Manhattan Nail Bar for about the last year and a half and I have gotten at least 20 friends and family members coming here, I have left them 5 star reviews on every platform I possibly could in the beginning because they were the best nail salon Iād ever used and thatās saying a lot after keeping my nails done for nearly 20 years now however they have went down hill terribly over the last few months!!! Everyone I introduced to this place has stopped using them and unless something changes I will not be going back either. For the first year I could walk in and allow anyone to do my dip and pedi and it would look amazing every time, about 6 months ago that stopped and I began using one of 5 nail techs who were all great though sadly nearly all of their good techs have quit and moved on elsewhere meaning itās now VERY difficult to get a good set of nails from Manhattan now. On top of them losing all of their good staff they donāt seem to be able to keep appointments now eitherā¦whether you call a week or a few days or a few hours in advance it never fails that you arrive for your appt and either you have to wait an hour to get started or they tell you that your requested tech wonāt be able to do your nails or they start each member of your group 20 mins apart so that the first one started has to sit there finished for over an hour for everyone else to get done but itās nearly always a combination of these failures. The last time was the final straw for me after they screwed my nails up and made them look awful because the tech working on me was spastic and not able to control his movements and the tech that did my pedicure left me pinky toe nail cut in a way that makes it stick out from the side of my foot. I always go with a large group of friends because we use that as our hangout time so typically they make at a min $500 when I walk in there, but lately we have all treated terribly and walked out with nails we hated. So, today I go inside the host was fabulous and very nice and helpful.. However,when the guy sat down to do my nails and me having a recent bad experience with a nail place not doing my cuticles and getting all the dry skin around nail off and cutting my fingertips at a different place. I was certain I would never pay again for bad service. Hoping this was the place that would do my nails great I asked questions first. As he was taking old gel polish off I explained I want my cuticles done and the dry skin around takin off. I wasn't very familiar with nail language but, its not hard to understand being a nail tech of what I was talking about. I want my cuticles and dry skin around nail done before dip nails done. He was very rude and kept saying loudly. He didn't know what I was talking about and that he'd do it after my nails were done. I said again I want it done prior because last time that was told to me at different place, they didn't do it and only put the oil on after only but, yet charged me for cleaning up my cuticles and not taking the dry skin off. He continued to be so aggravated and rude that this time I just walked out and said no thank you. Your not going to be rude to me and think your getting my money. Your a train nail tech and you should have known what exactly I was talking about and to be so rude when I was not rude to you. Customers pay your living.
