Sentinel Bridge offers, without a doubt, one of the most famous and compelling views in all of Yosemite National Park. It is the perfect spot for capturing the park's majestic scale and seasonal beauty, particularly in the autumn. The bridge's position along the Merced River provides a spectacular, unobstructed view of Half Dome. This angle allows you to see the magnificent granite monolith perfectly reflected in the calm waters of the river below—a view that defines the Yosemite experience. The combination of the reflective river, the colorful foliage, and the towering Half Dome makes for an unparalleled landscape photograph. If you’re hunting for that perfect, iconic Yosemite shot, stop at Sentinel Bridge, especially from late September through early November. You won’t be disappointed. Read moreSentinel Bridge is a classic location in Yosemite Valley. We've been going here for decades, and the view never disappoints. If you turn on the Sentinel Drive from Northside drive, you are unable to go into the lot. The easiest access for the parking lot from Northside Drive is to go down to El Capitan crossover, and then go back around to it from Southside Drive.
If you take the Yosemite Valley Shuttle, there is a shuttle stop here so if you're not driving it's no problem. Cook's Meadow is just across the bridge behind the parking lot, and have a great views of Yosemite Falls as well as a nice easy trail. If you're visiting Yosemite and only have one day, this spot should be...
