This park may look non-descript at first blush, but it is a historic spot where several future Major League Baseball players learned the game as kids, with the most notable being the late Rickey Henderson, the all-time leader in runs scored and stolen bases (a record unlikely to ever be broken)

Lovely large and inviting space. Seems just for the neighborhood folk and park affecionado. Zooming down Shattuck, you might miss bushrod park. Get out of your car or just park your bike. Stretch out and relax at another beautiful space!

Relatively large suburban park. Basketball court, baseball diamond, soccer fields play structure. Reasonably clean. Certainly not bad by Oakland standards :-) Parking not too bad but very busy.

This park could definitely use a face life in the play ground area but it is still a nice park to visit. Tennis courts, basketball courts, a huge field, and a parking lot that is closed to the public. I usually see children on their bikes skates and scooters rolling around in the small lot. The community center seems to be open on occasion and on Saturdays you can find a group performing capoeira that you can join. I bring my children here for quick outings and we head to the Williams store which is 2 blocks away for ice...

Great big open field with baseball diamonds at either end. Used mostly for Soccer. Downsides are that there are PLENTY of hidden holes with tall grass, and people run their dogs there even though they aren't allowed so some hidden "surprises" besides holes in the tall grass. There is a community center attached with a nice little playground for toddlers to ~1st grade kids, outside basketball courts and some nice...

Spacious, well-kept, and community-oriented. Near the community center are basketball hoops, tennis courts, large fields, picnic tables, grills, and a play structure. A great place for a picnic date, family gathering, or some exercise. I hope they open up the parking lot again soon as 59th tends to fill up/become blocked as people come to use the park on...
