Marion County Museum of History and Archaeology — Attraction in Ocala

Such a neat little place! It was $3 per person and it was WELL worth it. No one else was there when we went and Evan showed us around and answered all of our questions. He is SO knowledgeable and funny. It almost felt like we had a private tour guide.

We had about 50 mins before the place closed and Evan was so nice and told us to take our time. We didn’t stay past 5 but would have if we didn’t want to take up his time! I think an hour and half would be a good amount to read everything but you can do it quicker if you’re just a visual person.

He recommended to stop in Fort King, which was also nearby. If you are interested in the Seminole wars check that out too. That one is free and has a short movie, a display, and of course the fort. There is more to come in the next several years from what...

This is a great place to visit in Ocala. They have preserved lots of history from the local area. Every time I visit I learn something new. This is an interesting small museum. The museum displays history related to the area. I can't believe I waited so long to visit. The entrance fee is inexpensive. There is limited parking but more than enough for the museum's size. I highly recommend visiting. I will visit again because I visited too...
