Mesa de Notte — Restaurant in Ocala

One of us ordered the steak, medium. I wish I had taken a picture. Totally raw inside. That person cut slivers of the steak off, around the edge and ledt the rest. 45 minute wait for that. Oh, if we had another 45 minutes, they were willing to try again. I had the veal. As thin as I have ever seen and the sauce... Don't want to think about it. The seating must have been design by an ex boeing jet interior installer. If you moved, you bump those around you. Waiters constantly staying "pardon me" or "excuse me". Never again. Side note... The wait staff was professional and very nice. Retort... My behavoir. Lol. I asked what time dinner would start? When we ordered i asked how long they anticipated it taking to have the meal brought out. I was getting hungry and wondered. Yes, I did cut a piece of veal and ate it. Hence my review of its taste. Sounds as if you are stating that if a patron isn't picking up the tab, they should be quiet. It's the purpose of a review to inform future guest good or bad? You are correct, it wasn't the proper temperature and they did ask if they could have another go at it. We just didn't have any more time to waste. Afterall it was late by now. A word of advise... Don't attack your customers for complaining about bad service. Just sincerely appoligze. You did say you were aware of what happened. I never made it personal. You did however. Tonight my wife and I went to eat at Mesa de Notte for our 17th Anniversary, now I have written very few reviews, and this one truly disappoints me to give as we use to love eating at this restaurant. But tonight was the worst experience we have had here. We had a 7:30 reservation hostess sat us at 7:15, which was the only quick thing that happened tonight. I ordered the cream of mushroom soup, my wife ordered onion soup both were excellent, for entrees I ordered the lobster and risotto special, wife ordered the short ribs, 1 hour later after finishing our soup, dinner finally arrived. My wife's short ribs great as always, the lobster was terrible it was like a piece of rubber. Told waitress the problem and took short ribs instead, they were excellent. The owner passed our table at least a dozen times this server was so slow by the time we exited the restaurant it was 9:05 PM. Never once did the owner come to us to talk to us about what happened he did however make sure he spent plenty of time with the bigger parties. I can say after we spent with tip $124 which we have done several times with our family and friends at this establishment. However this time might be our last. Which is very disappointing to us. At any business especially the restaurant business all customers should be as important, but apparently that's not...

CONS: We were pretty excited to try this place out...what a let down. We felt like maybe our waitress didn't want us as a table? She hardly came to us, and left us for long stretches. After we ordered, we heard the table next to us(a different waitress) get offered a special appetizer. We would have loved to order that. AND they were offered Swordfish and a duck special, that we would have also ordered if we had known about it. Plus, she asked us if we wanted her to bring more bread, and we said sure. She never came back again until we received our dinners, with no bread. She left us for so long between stretches, that I gave her my credit card before any mention of the bill, because we didn't want to have to wait for fifteen minutes for her to bring the bill to the table. It was still quit a long wait. PROS: What we ordered was pretty good. My husband got the short ribs, which were a little fatty, but tasted very good.
