Gymboree Play & Music, Ocean — Attraction in Ocean Township

I think 10 sessions is a fair amount of time for me to give an appropriate assessment of my family’s experience at this location… Where to begin?

My son will be 3 in a few weeks and I was not able to enroll him in a Pre-K program this fall. I called too late in May and was waitlisted everywhere. I had accepted our fate.

My biggest fear was how this would affect his social skills and how he would respond to finally attending school in a year, when he is nearly 4. I decided I needed to enroll him in a gym class just to get him used to socializing with other kids. I researched all over the place… Little Gym, My Gym, Gymboree… And came across the School Skills class at this location. I just about screamed with excitement - this was perfect!

I called the next morning and the owner, Andrea, called me back right away. She was warm and made me feel at ease (note: first time mom whose kid has only been under the care of family members). A kid had just left the group since she got into a local school mid-year so we got super lucky.

Our son has been thriving! Of course there has been a learning curve; he’s the new kid, after all. But this is the time to learn. He is learning to socialize and to take directions from other adults. He loves going to “school” and loves his teachers and friends. Ms. Regina and Ms. Doreen are wonderful, patient, and kind.

The place is extremely clean and the children are definitely in a safe, warm environment where they will thrive, grow, and learn invaluable skills they will need for school.

My only regret was not finding this place sooner as my son will only be able to enjoy the school year and summer camp before he has to go to real school. Thank you Andrea and the entire Gymboree...

Gymboree Ocean Township has been such a special part of our lives — my kids started classes there at just 2 months old and stayed until around age 3! The positivity and warmth you feel the moment you walk in is unmatched. The space is always spotless, the equipment is modern and thoughtfully updated, and they’re constantly creating new, engaging configurations to keep things fresh and fun.

We even celebrated a birthday party there, and it was perfect from start to finish. Andrea, the owner, is incredibly welcoming and always full of creative ideas for events and seasonal activities. And their lead teacher, Kierstyn — we absolutely adored her! She’s kind, warm, energetic, and made every class feel so special. My kids lit up every time they saw her.

We truly had the BEST experience at Gymboree. It will always hold a special place...

Gymboree in Ocean deserves 5+ stars! The owner Andrea was so helpful from the second I spoke to her on the phone when I was trying to find a place to bring my 10month old daughter. Miss Kirstyn and Miss Kate are amazing with all the kids and always make us feel so loved and welcome! They do a great job of making it a fun yet educational experience for everyone!
